Spain vs Czechia Lineups: Spain return to action in the UEFA Nations League 2026-27 when they host Czechia at the Carlos Tartiere in Oviedo on Saturday. The world champions have made a perfect start to their League A campaign, defeating England 3-2 at Wembley before sweeping aside Croatia 4-1 in Seville.
Luis de la Fuente’s side lead Group A3 with six points, while Czechia are still searching for their first point after defeats to Croatia and England. Spain are unbeaten in all seven previous meetings, winning five.
Spain Team News
Spain have been forced into changes during the international window. Ferran Torres has left the squad after persistent discomfort in his left ankle, with Real Madrid youngster Carlos Espi called up as his replacement.
Nico Williams has also withdrawn after suffering discomfort in his left thigh following the Croatia victory. Alejandro Grimaldo departed earlier after sustaining a thigh issue during the warm-up against Croatia, with Fran Garcia brought into the squad.
Despite those absences, De la Fuente retains a strong core featuring Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Rodri, Dani Olmo and Mikel Oyarzabal. Yamal has already scored three goals across Spain’s opening two Nations League matches.
Czechia Team News
Czechia arrive in Oviedo under new head coach Santi Denia, who previously worked extensively within the Spanish federation and led Spain to Olympic gold at Paris 2024.
Denia’s squad includes experienced figures such as captain Ladislav Krejci, Adam Hlozek and Alex Kral, while Adam Karabec has already found the net in the Nations League.
The visitors have lost their opening two Group A3 fixtures, going down 2-1 to Croatia before England secured a 2-0 victory in Prague.
Denia therefore faces a demanding reunion with his former footballing colleagues, with Czechia needing a disciplined performance against a Spain side that has scored seven goals in its first two matches.
