SRH vs DC, IPL 2026: The caravan of IPL 2026 will return to the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on April 21, Tuesday as two middling teams in SunRisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals will face one another in a home game for the former. Both teams are in the mid-table logjam with six points each. While a win would necessarily not lift either of the teams from the logjam, it would greatly propel the confidence of the side that emerges victorious.

The SunRisers have bounced back exceptionally well from two successive wins, beating the Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after coming clutch in crucial moments. While their inexperienced bowling unit has come good, concerns with their batting remain. Travis Head has blown hot and cold, while Ishan Kishan’s returns have also been feast or famine. It has left the SunRisers to largely depend on Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen, with the lower-order batters perishing without contributing much. Hence, they will need their other batters to step up and start contributing.

Meanwhile, the Capitals held their nerve well to clinch victory against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, making it their third win of the ten-team tournament. While the Capitals have the batting depth and fired when they needed, the 2020 edition’s runners-up will require the top-order batters to be more consistent. The Capitals have a variety of bowlers in their arsenal, conducive to the two-paced nature of the Hyderabad surface.

Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium pitch report

Tuesday’s fixture is likely to be played on Pitch No.2 which has aided some big scores in IPL history, most notably when the SunRisers battered 277 against the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024. It was also the strip when the Punjab Kings couldn’t defend 245 last year, thanks to Abhishek Sharma’s 141. The weather is set to be partly cloudy, with the temperatures set to hover at 30 degrees. Hence, dew could be a factor.

  • Toss Winner Prediction: Delhi Capitals.
  • Decision: The captain winning the toss is likely to bowl first.

  • Reasoning: While the teams batting first have won two out of three games this season, the captain winning the toss could still opt to bowl first due to the potential dew factor.
