Lucknow Super Giants’ keeper-batter Nicholas Pooran had an epic brain fade in the IPL 2026 against the SunRisers Hyderabad on April 5, Sunday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Pooran managed to find an epic way to run himself out as he got out of the crease without properly looking where the ball headed.

The dismissal occurred in the 14th over of the innings bowled by left-arm wrist-spinner Shivang Kumar. With Pooran playing a sweep but mistiming it, the ball merely went to Kishan behind the stumps after taking an inside edge. However, the Trinidadian seemingly assumed that the ball had moved past the keeper and took two steps forward, looking for a run. Nevertheless, Kishan was smart enough to whip the bails off after collecting the ball cleanly.

Before Pooran’s scalp, the SunRisers had put a squeeze into the Super Giants, dismissing Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram and Ayush Badoni.

Half-centuries from Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy lift the SunRisers Hyderabad to 156

With Head (7), Abhishek (0) and Ishan Kishan (1) departing cheaply, the Orange Army slowed down significantly and were reeling at 35/4 after the 10-over mark as the Super Giants hardly gave anything away. However, Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy consolidated for some time and accelerated to race to a 116-run stand off only 63 deliveries. In the end, SunRisers’ total stood at a mere 156/9 as Prince Yadav, Avesh Khan and Mohammed Shami took two scalps each. Digvesh Rathi and Manimaran Siddharth also chipped in with a wicket each. Shami was arguably their pick of the bowlers with stunning figures of 4-0-9-2.
