Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batting star Virat Kohli was seen teasing SunRisers Hyderabad captain Ishan Kishan during the IPL 2026 opener on March 28, Saturday at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. A video of the same has surfaced on social media as Kohli was seen acting in a goofy manner with Kishan, who was also in a playful mood.

The video shows Kohli, 37, touch Kishan’s cheeks playfully as the latter seemed to be communicating something to the fielder. Here’s the video of the same:

It was under Kohli’s captaincy that the Bihar-born cricketer made his international debut in 2021; hence, they have been quite close since a long time.

Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal overshadow Ishan Kishan’s 80 as RCB hammer SRH in Chinnaswamy

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal played outstanding innings of 69* and 61, respectively, as Ishan Kishan’s innings of 80 proved to be a mere footnote in the IPL 2026’s curtain raiser. RCB captain Rajat Patidar had won the toss and opted to bowl first in Bengaluru. Jacob Duffy, debuting in IPL, went on to take three wickets as Patidar used four overs of his on the bounce to dismiss Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy. The New Zealand cricketer snaffled outstanding figures of 4-0-22-3. However, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen brought the SunRisers back into the contest with a 97-run stand. While Kishan struck 80, Aniket Verma provided them with the death-overs impetus with 43 as the Sunrisers went on to make 201 in their stipulated 20 overs.

However, the total proved to be too modest the way Royal Challengers batted. Padikkal hammered 61 off 26 deliveries, laced with seven fours and four sixes. Kohli, meanwhile, held the innings together amazingly well and finished in style with one six and a couple of boundaries to go with. With the Royal Challengers chasing down the target only in 15.4 overs with eight wickets to spare, they are also bound to get a massive net run-rate boost.
