India are into the final of the T20 World Cup 2026 and will be playing New Zealand in Ahmedabad on Sunday. The Men in Blue defeated England in the semi-final in Mumbai after Sanju Samson struck a 42-ball 89 as India posted 253/7 in 20 overs. Later, Jacob Bethell tried to keep England in the hunt hitting a brilliant hundred but the side could only manage to reach 246/7 in 20 overs and lost the match by 7 runs.

India’s bowling unit leaked a lot of runs especially in the later phase of the innings. Spinner Varun Chakravarthy leaked 64 runs in 4 overs while Arshdeep Singh was hit for 51 runs. The left-arm pacer also bowled five wides during the course of the innings.

Now, in a hilarious video that has gone viral on social media, opening batter Abhishek Sharma is seen making fun of Arshdeep. “Do wicket-keeper chaiye Arshdeep ko (Arshdeep Singh needs two wicket-keepers)”.

India had lost the first Super 8 fixture against South Africa but made a roaring comeback to defeat Zimbabwe and West Indies to march ahead into the semis where they met England and clinched a win.

This would be the fourth time India and New Zealand will be up against each other in a T20 World Cup fixture. New Zealand have registered wins on all the occasions. Talking about the ICC tournament finals, the Blackcaps have won twice while Team India has emerged victorious once.

India lost the Knockout trophy final in 2000 against the Kiwis while suffered a defeat against them in WTC final in 2021. India then got off the mark in the 2025 Champions Trophy final. Now, it would be interesting to see if India make it all square or New Zealand make it 3-1.
