The Ahmedabad Stadium has come under the spotlight for wrong reasons due to the dirty and uncleaned seats for the spectators for the T20 World Cup 2026 final. In a video shared by a spectator from the venue, he expressed his unhappiness at the condition of the seats and called for the ICC and the BCCI to look into this matter, claiming that the stakeholders are not doing enough to maintain the gigantic stadium.
Even though the Ahmedabad Stadium is arguably the largest cricket venue with a world with a seating capacity of nearly 1,30,000, the seats which had plenty of dirt in it has received criticism. The stakeholders may want to take note of it and provide a better experience to the fans.

Even after 100 years India will be the same. The system is fundamentally wrong on so many levels! Until that changes nothing will ever change! pic.twitter.com/2EDGvFXbL2

Even though the seats weren't seemingly to the fans' liking, the fans at the venue were thoroughly entertained as the Men in Blue belted New Zealand by 96 runs to lift the trophy. Team India openers Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma took the Kiwi bowlers to the cleaners from almost the word-go, stitching an opening stand of 98 only in 7.1 overs. New Zealand made a mini comeback by dismissing Samson (89), Kishan (54), Hardik Pandya (18) and Suryakumar Yadav (0) in a space of a few deliveries but it wasn’t enough to prevent India from breaching the 250-run mark. Shivam Dube clobbered three boundaries and two sixes in the 20th over to take Team India to 255/5 in 20 overs, shattering numerous records.
With India setting an improbable 256 for the Black Caps to win, they were under the pump from the outset, Although New Zealand found themselves 25/0 after two overs, the Men in Blue soon came out on top and continued to pile on the misery on the tourists. Tim Seifert was the lone warrior for the Kiwis, mustering a 23-ball 50 before falling to Varun Chakaravarthy for 52.
There were no real contributions from the remaining batters and New Zealand were bowled out for 159 in 19 overs. Jasprit Bumrah was the wrecker-in-chief with his figures of 4-0-15-4 and received the Player of the Match award.
