Bangladesh are scheduled to play all four of their group-stage matches in India. Three matches are set to be held in Kolkata, while the fourth is planned for Mumbai. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), with the backing of its government, has firmly refused to send the team to India and has requested that its matches be moved to co-host Sri Lanka.
A Bangladesh government adviser has stated that the country will not give in to ICC pressure regarding its participation in the T20 World Cup.

The PCB has not made any official public statement on the matter. However, sources within the board have said that the Bangladesh government approached Pakistan for support at the ICC level.
Pakistan, meanwhile, will play all of its matches in Sri Lanka under a hybrid model agreement with the BCCI and the ICC that will remain in place until 2027.
