TEAM JAPAN PATCH ON THE ASICS OLYMPIC CEREMONY UNIFORM STORY: Team Japan unveiled its new uniforms for the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics at an event in Tokyo on Wednesday (October 29). The designs by Japanese sportswear maker ASICS maintain the style introduced for the 2024 Paris Olympics, featuring the same gradient that blends Team Japan's official red colour with a lighter orange tone. Makoto Ohori, ASICS Apparel and Equipment Development Director, said the new line reflects continuity between the summer and winter games, while emphasising the balance between performance and sustainability. "Compared to the previous games, we’ve reduced the number of items to make production more environmentally friendly. Each piece is designed to adapt to various situations, which I think is a major update in terms of functionality," Ohori said. Athletes from both Japan's summer and winter Olympic teams took part in the presentation, which marked 100 days until the Milano Cortina Games begin on February 6.
