Islam Makhachev defeats Ian Machado Garry
Russia’s Islam Makhachev successfully defended his UFC welterweight title in a tense five-round battle against Ireland’s Ian Machado Garry. Despite being at a considerable height and reach disadvantage, Makhachev leaned on his elite grappling, bringing the fight to the mat early in the first round with a lightning-quick single-leg takedown.
In the second round, the champion stunned Garry with a heavy high kick before taking the fight back to the canvas. The tide briefly turned in the third round when Garry found his range, landing heavy leg and body kicks while defending takedown attempts. However, Makhachev returned to his smothering wrestling in the fourth round to completely regain control. Garry pushed hard for a finish in the final frame, but Makhachev stayed out of trouble to secure a unanimous decision victory (49-46, 49-46, 48-47). The victory set a new UFC record for Makhachev with his 17th consecutive win.
Mackenzie Dern retain her strawweight title
In the co-main event, American-Brazilian star Mackenzie Dern put her women’s strawweight belt on the line against Canadian challenger Gillian Robertson. Dern controlled the pace and showcased her well-rounded skill set over the championship rounds. Ultimately, she earned the judges’ nod, winning by unanimous decision with matching scorecards of 49-46, 49-46, and 48-47 to safely remain the champion.

Jalin Turner Beats Kaue Fernandes
The main card featured a series of fast and decisive finishes. Lightweight Jalin Turner needed just 39 seconds to defeat Kaue Fernandes via a brutal knockout flurry. In the middleweight division, Dustin Stoltzfus locked in a rear-naked choke against Mansur Abdul-Malik, earning a submission victory late in the second round. Additionally, Esteban Ribovics secured a stunning second-round TKO over veteran Edson Barboza in their lightweight clash.
The preliminary card was action-packed from start to finish. Charles Johnson delivered one of the rarest submissions in the sport, finishing Eduardo Chapolin with a “Scottish Twister” in the third round of their catchweight bout. Donte Johnson also made extremely quick work of Eric McConico, putting him away with a knockout punch in just 98 seconds. Elsewhere, veteran Neil Magny secured a second-round TKO finish over Ramiz Brahimaj.
