The UFC delivered another action-packed night in Oklahoma City as an exciting preliminary card set the stage for a thrilling five-fight main card. Fans were treated to several standout performances, impressive comebacks and memorable finishes, with the event maintaining a high level of intensity from the opening bout through the headline attraction.

The main event saw former UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis make a successful return after nearly a year away, defeating former welterweight king Kamaru Usman. Competing at middleweight for only the second time in his UFC career, Usman once again tested himself against one of the division’s elite, but the size and physicality of du Plessis ultimately proved too much to overcome. Despite entering the fight with confidence after his competitive showing against Khamzat Chimaev in 2024, Usman was unable to replicate that success against the former 185-pound champion.

Dricus du Plessis Dominates Kamaru Usman in Statement Return at UFC Oklahoma City

Dricus du Plessis marked his return to the Octagon with an emphatic unanimous decision victory over former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman in the UFC Oklahoma City main event. The former middleweight titleholder consistently imposed his size, power and relentless pressure, earning scores of 50-45, 49-46 and 49-46. Du Plessis repeatedly rocked Usman in the opening two rounds with heavy punches, sharp knees and head kicks, setting the tone for a dominant performance against the former UFC champion.

Despite the early punishment, Usman refused to back down and showed tremendous resilience throughout the five-round contest. He gradually settled into the fight, landed a few clean shots of his own and even finished the bout with an aggressive flurry after his corner urged him to search for a stoppage. However, his attempts to turn the momentum around were repeatedly halted as du Plessis stuffed his takedown attempts, continued landing the more damaging strikes and remained in control until the final bell.

The victory served as an ideal response for du Plessis after surrendering the middleweight title to Khamzat Chimaev last year. Speaking after the fight, the South African praised Usman’s toughness, saying, “That’s a warrior who I will respect for the rest of my life…” before adding, “You guys deserve fights like this. Not guys laying on other guys for some dumbass decision win.” With the convincing win, du Plessis has firmly re-established himself in the middleweight title picture and believes his latest performance strengthens his case for another championship opportunity.
