The United States is gearing up for a busy volleyball summer as USA Volleyball announced a 30-player preliminary squad for the 2026 Volleyball Nations League. The U.S. Women’s National Team will head into three weeks of international action, facing top sides from around the world in a packed competition schedule.
The Volleyball Nations League brings together 18 of the best national teams, with matches spread across three early-stage stops in Quebec City, the Philippines, and Osaka. From the wider roster, coaches will trim the group to 14 players for each week of competition. Erik Sullivan continues as head coach of the USA Volleyball Women’s National Team for his second season, supported by assistants Tayyiba Haneef-Park, Brandon Taliaferro, and Rob Browning. The group is now turning its attention toward the 2026 Volleyball Nations League and the broader build-up to LA 2028, with a mix of experienced Olympians and younger players shaping the roster.
“We’re excited about this roster and what it represents for our program as we build toward LA 2028,” Sullivan said, noting the presence of six Olympians who bring “invaluable experience and composure to every training session.” He also stressed the competitive environment within the squad, saying the mix of proven performers and rising players creates “exactly the kind of competitive gym we want.”
He further highlighted the challenge ahead in the VNL, calling it “a grind against the best teams in the world,” while adding, “we’ll learn a lot about ourselves, but we believe this roster has the balance, depth and resilience to take another step forward this summer.”
