The grass of the All England Club witnessed a beautiful crossover between the worlds of cricket and tennis during the Wimbledon 2026 Men’s Singles final on Sunday, featuring a battle between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev that saw the Italian emerge victorious. Right in the middle of a roaring London crowd stood India’s 15-year-old batting prodigy, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, making his very first appearance at Centre Court alongside a few massive names from the Indian cricket fraternity.
The teenage star, who recently made huge headlines by becoming India’s youngest ever international debutant, swapped his blue cricket jersey for a sharp black suit. He was joined in the stands by current teammate Abhishek Sharma, legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, and star wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, all soaking in the thrills of the championship match.

Looking absolutely dapper in his formal wear, the young left-handed batter spoke to Star Sports in a very candid, light-hearted interview about his style and sudden plan to visit London. When complimented on how sharp he looked in his black suit, Vaibhav gave an incredibly down-to-earth and sweet response that won fans over instantly.
“Jaldi jaldi me jo mila pahen ke aa gya! Ye maine Abhishek bhai ko bola arrange karne ko (I just wore whatever I could find quickly! I had asked Abhishek bhaiya to arrange this for me),” Vaibhav laughed, crediting his opening partner Abhishek for saving his day off the field as well.
When asked about what brought him to the All England Club on Sunday, he explained that he wanted to experience what a Grand Slam final feels like in real life.
Growing Up Watching Legends: Vaibhav Picks His Tennis Idols
Even though cricket is his main love, Vaibhav revealed that he is a sports fan who has been tracking tennis for nearly five years. When asked about the players he grew up watching, the youngster did not hesitate to pick the two titans of the sport.
“I have been following tennis for four or five years now. I followed Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic while growing up. Abhi bhi Djokovic bohot pasand hai (Even now, I like Djokovic a lot),” the youngster confessed.
When asked to choose between the tour’s two current titans, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, the young Indian cricketer had a very clear answer.
“I was following Alcaraz, but he is not in this tournament, so Sinner is dominating, and I think he should win,” Vaibhav predicted.

Uncannily, the young prodigy’s pre-match prediction turned out to be absolutely spot on! In a breathtaking four-set thriller, defending champion Jannik Sinner fought back from a set down to defeat Alexander Zverev 6-7 (7), 7-6 (2), 6-3, 6-4, retaining his crown on the London grass.

Vaibhav was not the only Indian cricketer drawing eyeballs at the venue. Explosive wicketkeeper Sanju Samson and India opener Abhishek Sharma were also spotted taking in the grass-court tournament, extending a summer of sport for Indian players who had just wrapped up a bilateral assignment in England in a 0-4 whitewash loss.
Yuvraj Singh fondly joked about the young prodigy by calling him “Boss Baby” in what was their first meeting in person.
