At the age of 15, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s cabinet already looks quite decorated. He may not yet have made his India debut for the senior team, but his performance in the Indian Premier League has raised eyebrows. Despite Rajasthan Royals’ elimination from the playoffs, Sooryavanshi took home multiple awards for his batting display throughout the season. He claimed the IPL 2026 Orange Cap as the leading run-scorer, becoming the youngest recipient of the coveted award. His strike rate was also the best this season.

Sooryavanshi was the MVP of IPL 2026 and was also named the Emerging Player of the Season. He also created history by breaking Chris Gayle’s record for most sixes in an IPL campaign.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi gets Tata Sierra for having best strike in IPL 2026

With a strike rate of 237.31, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was crowned as the Super Striker of the Season. He has smashed 776 runs in 16 outings, including five half-centuries and one hundred. After the RCB vs GT final in Ahmedabad, Sooryavanshi was presented with his awards, but one of them gained a lot of attention.

After being named the Super Striker, Sooryavanshi received a Tata Sierra car. The 15-year-old, however, has yet to reach the legal age to claim his driving licence. Now that he can’t drive the four-wheeler, fans wonder what the teenager would do with his prized possession.

Can Vaibhav Sooryavanshi sell his Tata Sierra?

Receiving cars as a cricket award is not a new thing. There are many players who have been presented with a car on multiple occasions during their careers. But do they keep every one of them? The practical answer would be no. Though Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s situation is different, he can also opt to sell his Tata Sierra. On the other hand, he can also wait until he turns 18 and acquires his driving licence. It all depends on him.

What’s next for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi?

After dominating IPL with batting prowess, Sooryavanshi is now set to don the Blues for India A. He will tour Sri Lanka for a tri-nation series, starting on June 9. It will be an important assignment for the youngster, who is already knocking on the door of the senior team. If he can maintain his consistency, Sooryavanshi may make his Team India debut this year only.
