Saurashtra and Vidarbha have sealed their places in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26 final after emphatic victories in their respective semi-finals, setting up an exciting title showdown in Bengaluru on Sunday. Both teams arrive with strong momentum, powered by standout individual performances that underlined their dominance in the knockout stage.
Saurashtra’s march into the final came through a commanding nine-wicket win over Punjab in the second semi-final, where Vishvaraj Jadeja produced a breathtaking run chase almost single-handedly. Chasing a competitive target of 291, Saurashtra never looked under pressure as Jadeja remained unbeaten on 165, guiding his side home with authority at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
Jadeja turned the chase into a personal showcase, striking his third List A century of the tournament. He attacked from the outset, clearing the ropes even before reaching his half-century. Punjab’s bowlers struggled to contain him, especially young pacer Krish Bhagat, who conceded heavily as Jadeja repeatedly punished anything short or wide.
With clean hitting, sharp placement, and calm decision-making, Jadeja controlled the tempo of the innings. His unbeaten 165 ensured Saurashtra crossed the line comfortably, keeping their hopes alive of lifting the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the third time and achieving their first title triumph since the 2022–23 season.
Earlier, Vidarbha confirmed their spot in a second consecutive Vijay Hazare Trophy final after beating defending champions Karnataka by six wickets in the first semi-final. Aman Mokhade once again stood tall, continuing his remarkable run in the tournament with a commanding 138.
Chasing 281, Vidarbha placed their trust in Mokhade, who anchored the innings from the start. He paced his knock perfectly, rotating the strike and finding boundaries when required. His century also took him past Devdutt Padikkal’s tally to become the leading run-scorer of the tournament. By the time Mokhade fell attempting an ambitious shot, the target was well within reach, and Vidarbha finished the job with ease.
The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26 final between Vidarbha and Saurashtra will be played on Sunday, January 18. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. IST.
The title clash will take place at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, Ground 1, in Bengaluru, the same venue that hosted both semi-finals.
