IPL 2026: How many runs did Virat Kohli score for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)?

In what was the second consecutive title victory for the Royal Challengers to match Mumbai Indians’ and Chennai Super Kings’ feat, the former RCB captain played a pivotal role in the same. With a tally of 675 runs in 16 matches, Kohli finished as the franchise’s highest run-getter and the fourth-highest overall, including one hundred and five half-centuries, entailing a best of 105*. The final against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad saw the star batter smash an unbeaten 75* to take the Royal Challengers over the line with five wickets to spare.

When will Virat Kohli next be back in action?

Having spent a long season on the field with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the 37-year-old is expected to fly back to London to spend some time with his family. However, he will be back in action when the ODI series against Afghanistan gets underway on June 13, Saturday in Dharamshala. With Kohli playing only in ODIs at the international level, he has been named in the ODI squad to face Afghanistan and will also be in contention for the tour of England in July. Before that, India will play a one-off Test in New Chandigarh, commencing on June 6.

The right-handed batter has been prolific in ODI cricket and is currently the second-highest run-getter in the format, only behind Sachin Tendulkar. His century-tally of 54 is the highest and is unlikely to be surpassed by anyone in the coming years. Kohli also has the 2027 World Cup in sight, with the mega tournament set to be hosted by South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe.

After a heartbreaking loss in the final of 2023, the Men in Blue will be determined to make amends next year.
