Wimbledon 2026: With Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner set to batle it out in one of the most anticipated matches of Wimbledon 2026, legendary Indian cricketer Virat Kohli will reportedly grace the occasion. Having attended what is called the ‘Mecca of Tennis’, Kohli, who now resides in the United Kingdom, is reportedly set to attend the match. With Djokovic teasing a meet-up with Kohli in recent weeks, will the much awaited meeting take place on July 10, Friday.
Wimbledon 2026: What did Novak Djokovic say about his potential meeting with Virat Kohli?
With Djokovic and Kohli following one another on Instagram, the Serbian Tennis star has expressed his wish to meet the Indian cricketing legend. Speaking to Star Sports after emerging victorious in an intense battle with Felix Auger Aliassime in the quarter-final, the 39-year-old said he would love to meet Kohli and play some cricket and tennis with him. He stated:
“I would love to play some cricket and tennis with Virat Kohli. I am planning to visit India in the near future and we have been communicating about it. I know Virat is a global star, but especially in India, he is incredible. I would love for him to be my host and show me around. “I have a lot of respect for him and for Indian cricket. Cricket is not big in Serbia, where I come from. But some of the people in my team are British, and they love cricket. So I have been learning about the game over the last 10 to 15 years. I still need to work on my cricketing skills. Maybe Virat can help me with my technique and bat swing. But seriously, I have great respect and admiration for him. I would love to get the chance to meet him in his home country India.”

Wimbledon 2026: Novak Djokovic faces a litmus test
Coming back to Tennis, Djokovic faces an acid test against Sinner, who is arguably one of the fastest emerging Tennis stars. The two players battled it out most recently in the Australian Open 2026 semi-final, with Djokovic emerging victorious 3–6, 6–3, 4–6, 6–4, 6–4 to end his five-match losing streak against Sinner.
However, Sinner still holds a narrow head-to-head lead over the veteran, winning 6 out of 11 games.
