There’s a reason Glenn Phillips is often called a bird on the field, and once again, he proved why. After pulling off back-to-back near-impossible catches, Phillips delivered another unforgettable moment in Indian Premier League 2026. In the match between Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans at the Ekana Stadium on April 12, Sunday, GT secured a 7-wicket win, and Phillips played a huge role in it with two brilliant catches to seal their second win of the season. He missed one catch but gave a near impossible effort that caught fans attention.
Glenn Phillips Missed Catch
The treat to the eye moment came during the 7th over when Phillips sprinted from deep square leg and dived to catch a shot from Aiden Markram. He initially held the ball, but it popped out when his elbows hit the ground upon landing.

The Catches Taken
However, he completed his duty when Ayush Badoni tried to break the shackles off Parsidh Krishna’s delivery in 8.2 over. He went for a big shot, sending the ball flat to deep square. For a moment, it looked like the chance might go down. Phillips initially seemed to misjudge it under the tricky lights, even hinting at a possible collision or injury scare. But in a split second, everything changed.
He adjusted mid-movement, locked his eyes on the ball, and pulled off a stunning catch at his chest, the kind that silences the crowd before drawing loud applause. Badoni had to walk back for 9 off 11 balls. And Phillips wasn’t done yet.
In the 16.2 over, off Ashok Sharma’s delivery, Abdul Samad tried to take on a short ball, going for a pull shot. The ball flew flat towards deep mid-wicket, and once again, Phillips was right there, calmly grabbing it to send Samad back for 18 off 22.

How Did GT Beat LSG In IPL 2026 Match 19?
After being put in to bat, Lucknow Super Giants never really got going. Tight bowling and sharp fielding from Gujarat Titans kept them under pressure, restricting them to 164/8 in 20 overs.
With the ball, Prasidh Krishna led from the front, picking up four wickets conceding only 28 runs and controlling the middle overs. Despite a decent start in the powerplay, LSG failed to build partnerships when it mattered.
In reply, Gujarat Titans chased the target comfortably. Sai Sudharsan fell early for 15, but captain Shubman Gill anchored the innings with a 40-ball half-century. Jos Buttler completed half the task with a quick 60, while Washington Sundar and Rahul Tewatia finished things off comfortably.
