FC Barcelona are almost done with the Rodri deal, with the Manchester City midfielder already in Spain to complete the formalities. The Ballon d’Or holder touched down in the Catalan city on Monday. He was supposed to undergo his medical and sign a new Barcelona contract today. In a recent video shared by Fabrizio Romano, Rodri was seen arriving at the Barcelona headquarters. After stepping out of his car, the Spaniard waved at the media personnel and fans waiting outside before heading into the office. Barcelona have reportedly negotiated a 65.4 million pound deal with Manchester City to sign the FIFA World Cup winner.
Rodri Signs FC Barcelona Contract
Reports suggest Rodri visited Barcelona’s training base early on Tuesday morning. He first completed his medical before going forward with the signing procedure. Rodri has been handed a four-year deal, which will keep him at the Camp Nou until 2030.

Rodri was captured outside the Barcelona airport on Monday night. Speaking to the media, the Spanish midfielder revealed that “it was a dream” for him to play for Barca. “We are going for the Champions League and everything else that comes our way,” he added.
Rodri Returns To Spain After Seven Years
Rodri joined Man City from La Liga side Atletico Madrid in 2019 and has since collected 11 major honours with the club, including four Premier League titles and the Champions League. For Manchester City, he has made 260 appearances, recording 26 goals and 30 assists during that period.
Rodri was also instrumental in City’s historic 2022-23 Treble, scoring the winning goal in the Champions League final against Inter Milan.
His 2023/24 campaign was particularly outstanding. Rodri registered eight Premier League goals and nine assists, while completing 3,359 passes, which is the highest total recorded in a Premier League season since 2003-04. His numbers speak volumes about why Barcelona have invested heavily in the Spanish international.
Rodri is expected to make his Barcelona debut next weekend when Hansi Flick’s men face Elche in the La Liga season opener.
