Sudharsan and Sundar are currently at the Centre of Excellence (COE) as they recover from their respective injuries, while Chakravarthy joined them for the meal.

Sai Sudharsan is currently recovering from a toe injury at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru, which ruled him out of India’s ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka. He was recently spotted enjoying a biryani meal with fellow India and Tamil Nadu teammates Washington Sundar and Varun Chakravarthy at Akshay Food Factory.
Sundar and Chakravarthy are also undergoing rehabilitation after picking up hamstring injuries during India’s England tour. While the three players remain away from competitive action, they appeared to make the most of their downtime, enjoying the meal together and posing for pictures with fans.

A video from their Bengaluru outing on Tuesday, August 18, quickly went viral, crossing 230,000 views and drawing plenty of reactions online. The casual break gave the Tamil Nadu trio some time to relax away from their recovery routines as they continue working toward full fitness and a return to the Indian team.
Sai Sudharsan Injury Opens Door for Devdutt Padikkal in India’s Test XI
With Sai Sudharsan sidelined, Devdutt Padikkal made the most of his opportunity at No. 3, scoring 211 runs across the two innings, including 167 in the first and 44 in the second. His performance made him only the third Indian batter after Rahul Dravid and Sanjay Manjrekar to score more than 200 runs in an away Test. Asked about the competition with Sudharsan, Padikkal said, “That is how it goes, to be honest. Injuries like that can happen, and he (Sai Sudharsan) has been doing well for India over the past few games and is also a very talented player. In the end, whoever gets the chance has to grab it with both hands and help the team win, and as long as we are doing that, everyone is happy.”
Sudharsan was ruled out of the Sri Lanka series after failing to recover from his right toe injury, while Washington Sundar missed out because of a right hamstring injury suffered during the second ODI against England in Cardiff. Varun Chakravarthy also picked up a hamstring issue during the T20I series against England. With Sudharsan and Sundar unavailable, Saransh Jain and Sarfaraz Khan were added to India’s squad, while the upcoming two-Test tour of New Zealand could decide whether Padikkal or Sudharsan gets the No. 3 spot.
