England captain Harry Kane made a stunning revelation about receiving an invitation from Donald Trump to a golf session. The striker, ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final against Norway, reminisced about the memory of playing a game of golf with the US President nearly 18 months ago. He was asked about his experience at a press conference after Trump, a few days ago, hailed Kane as a top-quality golfer, while also appreciating his football achievements and wishing him luck for the remaining World Cup games.

Trump’s comments sparked a buzz after England defeated Mexico in the Round of 16, with Kane leading the way with a winning penalty late in the second half. Fans know the Bayern Munich star as a versatile, deep-lying forward, whose passing ability is as impressive as his finishing, but many of them might have learnt about his talent in golf from Trump’s story.

When did Harry Kane play golf with Donald Trump?

Speaking to the media, Harry Kane shared that he was invited by the US President after meeting him at the Palm Beach in Florida. “I played all right, to be honest. He invited me to play when I was down in Palm Beach,” he said.

“So yeah, when the president invites you somewhere, it was a pretty surreal experience just to meet him and obviously play golf with him. His golf is pretty good, to be honest. I hope I can play as well as him when I’m his age. So yeah, it was a unique experience, and I was just grateful he invited me down to play,” Kane revealed further.

What’s next for Harry Kane?

While Donald Trump continues to grab the headlines amid the FIFA World Cup 2026, Harry Kane will now focus on leading his country to their second final. Up next, they need to overcome Norway to set up a semi-final with either Argentina or Switzerland. Having scored six goals and provided one assist, Kane also chases the Golden Boot award. He is currently fourth in the standings, following Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland.
