Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli featured in all three ODIs against the West Indies, with the series concluding on Saturday, October 3, after India suffered a five-wicket defeat in New Chandigarh. Rohit produced scores of 32, 101 and 92 across the series, while Kohli contributed an unbeaten 139, followed by 29 and a golden duck. Despite the contrasting returns in the final game, both veterans remained key figures throughout the home series.

With the ODI series now over, India will shift focus to a five-match T20I series against the West Indies, meaning fans will have to wait before seeing the Rohit-Kohli duo back in action. Their next assignment is expected to come during India’s tour of New Zealand, where the two are set to feature in a five-match ODI series. The upcoming New Zealand tour will be part of India’s broader multi-format assignment against the Black Caps.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli Next Series: When Will Ro-Ko Play for India Again?

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli played all three ODIs against the West Indies in the recently concluded home series, with India taking the series 2-1. Rohit finished as India’s leading run-scorer with 225 runs at an average of 75, including a century in the second ODI and scores of 32 and 92 in the other two games. Kohli, meanwhile, accumulated 168 runs at an average of 56, with his standout innings coming in the series opener, where he smashed an unbeaten 139 off 88 deliveries. During the series, Kohli also became only the second batter after Sachin Tendulkar to cross the 15,000-run mark in ODI cricket.

With no more ODIs scheduled for India over the next month, the two veterans are set for a brief break from international cricket. India’s next assignment is a multi-format tour of New Zealand, beginning with a five-match T20I series on October 22. The T20Is will be followed by a five-match ODI series, with the opening game scheduled for November 4 at Eden Park in Auckland. Although the BCCI is yet to announce the squads for the tour, Rohit and Kohli are expected to be in contention for the ODI leg following their performances against the West Indies.

The ODI series will run until November 15, with matches also scheduled in Wellington, Hamilton and Mount Maunganui. Rohit has previously played 14 ODIs in New Zealand, scoring 437 runs in 13 innings, including four half-centuries, although he is yet to register an ODI hundred there. India will then conclude the tour with two Tests beginning November 19 and November 27. For now, fans will have to wait until the New Zealand ODI series for another appearance from the experienced Rohit-Kohli combination.
