Spin-bowling all-rounder Harsh Dubey made a promising ODI debut for India in the series opener against Afghanistan in Dharamshala. The 23-year-old picked three wickets in the rain-affected encounter, as Afghanistan suffered a batting collapse. The visitors were bundled out for 195 in the 25-over-a-side match due to a rain delay. Dubey bowled five overs and conceded 47 runs while dismissing the Afghan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Allah Ghazanfar to wrap up as one of the best bowlers for the Indian side.

Who is Harsh Dubey?

The Pune-born all-rounder, who represents Vidarbha in the domestic circuit, has already played a few matches in the IPL. Dubey was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad as an injury replacement for R Smaran almost at the end of the 2025 season. He impressed in the last game for SRH, scalping three wickets for 34 runs to guide his team across the victory line against Kolkata. Following his brilliant show, the Hyderabad-based franchise retained Dubey ahead of the IPL 2026.

Harsh Dubey’s Domestic Career

The southpaw has featured in 27 first-class matches so far in his career. He has claimed 133 wickets while aggregating 1026 runs with the bat. Dubey has registered a ten-wicket haul twice across innings. He also has nine fifers under his belt.
In List A cricket, Dubey has made 30 appearances, taking 31 wickets and scoring 296 runs. The youngster has also represented the India A side.

Harsh Dubey’s Numbers in IPL

Dubey played just three matches in the 2025 season, but SRH showed its faith in the all-rounder prodigy in the recently concluded campaign. He appeared in eight matches for Hyderabad this season and bagged as many wickets. He, however, didn’t have many chances to showcase his batting prowess. After his spectacular bowling in his India debut, Dubey will now look to cement his place in the ODI set-up, with the team management showing its faith in the young generation.
