Chase Pistone, the brother of Nick Pistone and grandson of legendary NASCAR driver ‘Tiger’ Tom Pistone, passed away at the age of 42. His brother, Nick, who is also a former NASCAR driver, confirmed his death with a Facebook post. Belonging to a family with a rich racing heritage, Chase also had a couple of short stints in NASCAR.Â
Who is Nick Pistone?
Nick Pistone is Chase Pistone’s elder brother and a former NASCAR driver. He is one of the prominent figures in the Legends Racing community. While he is not a racer in the Legends series, Nick is a car builder and a tire specialist. The former NASCAR driver owns a motorsport brand, NSANE Grip focussing on Legend cars. With more than three decades of experience, Nick has been able to provide parts that help racers across the United States in building cars.
Most of his time goes to working in his workshop, where he builds cars and sources essential parts for cars. Nick currently lives in Statham, Georgia, even though he originally hails from Harrisburg, North Carolina. Apart from his workshop work, the former NASCAR driver also manages NSANE Grip’s account on TikTok. The page on the social media platform usually features content related to US Legend Cars.
While confirming the death of his younger brother, Nick, in his Facebook post, talked about how Chase was not only his younger brother but also his best friend.Â
Did Chase compete in NASCAR?
During his racing career, Chase competed in several competitions like the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and the ARCA Menards Series.Â
In 2005, he would enter the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and compete for Green Light Racing at Martinsville Speedway. In 2006, Pistone would carry on with his NASCAR endeavors, competing in both the NASCAR Busch Series and ARCA. However, these two starts at Iowa with ARCA and Martinsville with the Busch Series would be his final ones for eight years.
In 2014, Pistone made an unprecedented comeback to NASCAR, participating in eight Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck events. He then went on to achieve his highest National Series finish during this season, which was his last in NASCAR, finishing tenth in the Truck Series annual trip to Gateway.
After his racing career ended, Chase also worked as a car builder for Legends Cars and Super Late Models.Â
