Award-winning actor Owen Cooper is all set to take the field at the London Stadium on May 31, Sunday by partaking in the Soccer Aid 2026. At 16 years, Cooper will be the youngest to take the field at the Soccer Aid as he will debut alongside the likes of Joe Marler, Radio DJ Jordan North and Gladiator Nitro, whose real name is Harry Aikines-Aryeetey. Who is Owen Cooper?
The 16-year-old surged to fame last year when he featured alongside Stephen Graham in Netflix series Adolescence, a deep and emotional series, for which Cooper gained plenty of recognition. The series is about Graham struggling to deal with his teenage son, which is played by Cooper, and what he is capable of after being charged with killing a teenage girl. The series largely highlights toxic masculinity and social media and is condensed to only four episodes. The series proved to be a recipient of some big honours in this season, with Cooper highlighting it by becoming a recipient of Emmy and Golden Globe award.
Additionally, Cooper has also starred in a Sam Fender music video and made an appearance in Emerald Fennell’s hit adaptation of Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights. Who are the other celebrities in the Soccer Aid 2026?
Among the other celebrities that will take part in Soccer Aid, TV presenter Paddy McGuinness, singer Olly Murs and actor Tom Hiddleston are also set to take the field. They will be joined by Olympic stalwart Usain Bolt, comedian Maisie Adam, rapper Big Zuu, Scottish actor Richard Gadd, The Last Leg’s Alex Brooker and singer Robbie Williams. Ex-England footballer Jill Scott is also expected to be present.
Williams will manage the England team, while Bolt will take charge of the World XI team.
