Rocky Flintoff has scripted a major record in his young cricket career, scoring a stunning maiden senior century for Lancashire at just 18. The son of England great Andrew Flintoff, Rocky has naturally attracted attention because of both his famous surname and the striking similarities in his batting technique to his father. But his latest innings was about more than family connections.
Facing Somerset in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup at Taunton, the teenager unleashed an explosive 123 off 76 deliveries, helping Lancashire post a mammoth 443 for six. The performance also saw him find a special place in Lancashire history.
Rocky Flintoff Secures Historic Lancashire Record
At 18 years and 126 days, Rocky Flintoff became the youngest player to smash a century for Lancashire’s first team. He surpassed Archie MacLaren’s record, which had prevailed since 1890. MacLaren was 18 years and 256 days old when he registered 106 against Sussex at Hove.
Flintoff’s record-breaking innings was definitely not an ordinary one. He struck 10 fours and seven sixes, blending aggression with control.

Who Is Rocky Flintoff? His Career So Far
Born on April 7, 2008, Rocky Flintoff is a right-handed batter who also bowls right-arm fast-medium. He joined Lancashire’s academy at a young age and signed his first professional contract with the county in June 2024, aged 16.
His breakthrough came in his youth career. In April 2024, Flintoff scored 100 for Lancashire’s second XI against Warwickshire, breaching the three-figure mark off 151 balls. He also shared a 39-run partnership with his older brother Corey during that innings.
Flintoff was subsequently selected for England Under-19s and continued to build his reputation. He also scored an unofficial century for the England Lions against a Cricket Australia XI in Brisbane in 2025.
His Lancashire breakthrough came in 2024, when Rocky made his List A debut and soon chipped in with a career-best effort of 88 from 115 balls against Middlesex in the One-Day Cup. He also made his first-class debut in the same season.
