India vs England 3rd ODI: Needing a win to clinch the series, India announced three changes in the playing XI, with the biggest one being Jasprit Bumrah being ruled out of the clash at Lord’s. With Bumrah’s unavailability, there would be added pressure on the Indian bowlers. Keeping that in mind, Shubman Gill announced that Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, and KL Rahul would be coming into the playing XI. The reason behind Bumrah being ruled out of the clash is a knee injury to the senior pacer.
IND vs ENG 3rd ODI: Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of series decider at Lord’s
India was put in to bowl by Harry Brook after the English skipper won the toss. The visitors were further hampered by Jasprit Bumrah missing out on the crucial clash. The senior pacer, who had been unarguably India’s best bowler across the last two games, suffered an injury to his knee, which ruled him out of the high-stakes encounter at Lord’s.
IND vs ENG 3rd ODI: Who replaced Jasprit Bumrah in India’s Playing XI?
Jasprit Bumrah was replaced by Arshdeep Singh in the playing XI. The left-arm pacer, after enduring a tough time in the shortest format, will be playing his first game of the ODI series. Arshdeep would be expected to take up the new ball along with Gurnoor Brar. Meanwhile, Prince Yadav also made it back to the playing XI but would be expected to play as the first change bowler after Brar and Singh’s opening spells.
IND vs ENG 3rd ODI: Shivam Dube gets dropped as India opts for five bowlers
For the first time in a long time, the Indian team went with five bowlers without a sixth bowling option. Apart from a four-man pace attack featuring Gurnoor Brar, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna, Axar Patel will be playing as the lone spinner. It is possible that, with Jasprit Bumrah unavailable, the Indian team went ahead with an extra bowler as to not exert pressure on their all-rounders. The visitors further bolstered their batting order with the addition of KL Rahul in the place of Shivam Dube.
