Neymar could be set for a sensational reunion with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Inter Miami if former Brazil international Felipe Melo’s claim proves correct. The Brazilian forward’s current contract with Santos expires in December, leaving his next move uncertain. Neymar has previously admitted that retirement remains an option when his deal ends. However, Melo has now claimed that the 34-year-old will move to Major League Soccer in January and join his former Barcelona team-mates in Miami. Such a move would revive one of football’s most celebrated attacking partnerships and reunite the famous Barcelona “MSN” trio after almost a decade apart.
Felipe Melo Predicts Neymar’s Inter Miami Move
Melo, who earned 22 Brazil caps, said he had received information suggesting Neymar would move to Miami from January.
“I talked to a friend of mine who passed me some news about Santos before,” Melo said on YouTube. “He told me Neymar is going to play in Miami. Starting in January, Neymar is going to Miami.”
The claim remains unconfirmed. Neymar himself has refused to commit to his next step. The forward returned to Santos in January 2025 after leaving Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal. He has since scored 14 goals in 29 league appearances for the Brazilian side.
His Santos contract runs until December. Neymar has said he wants to honour the agreement before deciding whether to stay, move elsewhere or retire.
Barcelona MSN Reunion Could Become Reality
A move to Miami would reunite Neymar with Messi and Suarez, recreating the attacking trio that dominated European football at Barcelona.
The three forwards played together for three seasons and scored 363 goals collectively. Their first campaign as a trio produced 122 goals and ended with Barcelona winning the Champions League.
Messi moved to Inter Miami in 2023 after leaving Paris Saint-Germain. He has since scored 92 goals in 106 appearances for the club. Suarez also joined Miami that year after leaving Barcelona, and has scored 52 goals for the MLS side.
Neymar left Barcelona for PSG in 2017 in a world-record £198 million transfer. His departure ended the MSN era.
Now, Melo’s claim has reopened the possibility of all three playing together again. Neymar, however, has stressed that his future remains undecided.
“I really don’t know what I’m going to do,” he said. “There’s still a long way to go until December.” For now, the Inter Miami reunion remains a prediction rather than a confirmed transfer.
