Dominique Malonga added another milestone to her impressive rookie campaign by becoming the youngest player in WNBA history to reach 300 career rebounds. The Seattle Storm center had already made history just days earlier, becoming the youngest player to record at least 30 points while shooting 70% from the field after putting up 31 points on 14-of-20 shooting against the New York Liberty. She entered Monday’s matchup averaging 17.1 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game and had also earned her first All-Star selection.
Malonga then backed up the historic milestone with another strong performance, finishing with 26 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks as Seattle defeated the Chicago Sky 97-88 to snap an 11-game losing streak. Natisha Hiedeman added 18 points and nine assists for the Storm, who continue to build around Malonga, Flau’jae Johnson and Awa Fam as the young core they hope can eventually return the franchise to championship contention.

Natisha Hiedeman added 18 points and nine assists, while Zia Cooke contributed 16 off the bench. Seattle held a 47-33 advantage at halftime and maintained control for most of the night, although Chicago cut the deficit to 84-82 with under three minutes left after DiJonai Carrington’s steal and fast-break layup. The Storm responded immediately when Cooke knocked down a corner three after a Chicago turnover to restore a seven-point cushion.
Seattle never allowed the Sky to get closer than five points after that, securing their first win since July 6. Carrington, making her return after her Flagrant 2 ejection against the Indiana Fever, led Chicago with a career-high 26 points while going 10-for-10 from the free-throw line.
