Meanwhile, the Phoenix Mercury also snapped a losing streak with a strong 94-87 win over the Los Angeles Sparks. Rookie Noemie Brochant led the way with a season-best 24 points, while Alyssa Thomas came alive late, scoring nine of her 16 points in the fourth quarter to help Phoenix secure the victory.

A’ja Wilson powered the Las Vegas Aces with 26 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks, recording her 17th double-double of the season in an 86-76 win over the Washington Mystics. Jackie Young added 25 points and eight assists, while Chelsea Gray finished with 12 points and NaLyssa Smith contributed 11 points and 11 rebounds. Young also reached a notable milestone, becoming the seventh-fastest player in WNBA history to record at least 4,000 points and 1,000 assists, doing so in 275 games.
The Mystics received 20 points from Shakira Austin and 19 from Sonia Citron, while Kiki Iriafen posted 15 points and 13 rebounds. Betnijah Laney-Hamilton scored six points in her Washington debut. The Mystics entered the game on a seven-game winning streak, but Las Vegas pulled away late, with Smith’s layup giving the Aces their first double-digit advantage at 73-63 with 5:32 remaining.
Las Vegas also continued its impressive run inside the paint, scoring 40 or more points there for the ninth consecutive game. The Aces and Mystics will meet again on Thursday in Las Vegas, giving Washington an immediate chance to respond.
Phoenix Mercury Snap Losing Streak As Noemie Brochant Drops Season-High 24 Against Sparks
Rookie Noemie Brochant produced the best scoring performance of her season with 24 points as the Phoenix Mercury defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 94-87 on Tuesday to end a three-game losing streak. Alyssa Thomas added 16 points, with nine coming in the fourth quarter, as Phoenix overcame an 81-78 deficit with 4:56 remaining by closing the game on a decisive 16-6 run. Thomas put the Mercury ahead with a layup late in the fourth before DeWanna Bonner sealed the win with four consecutive free throws.
Brochant shot 10-of-13 from the field as Phoenix finished at 52% shooting, while Thomas also contributed seven rebounds and nine assists. Kahleah Copper scored 18 points and Bonner added 11 for the Mercury. Los Angeles got 19 points apiece from Dearica Hamby and Rae Burrell, while Nneka Ogwumike posted 18 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Kelsey Plum did not face her former team after being sidelined with left calf tightness.
