India and Pakistan have yet again been clubbed in the same group as the International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the fixtures for T20 World Cup 2026. The arch-rivals will take on one another on June 14, Sunday at the Edgbaston in Birmingham, with the venue likely to be packed. The tournament will get underway on June 12, Friday at the same venue, with hosts England facing Sri Lanka.

Pakistan yet to beat India in ICC T20 World Cup matches

Pakistan women's team have faced their Indian counterparts on eight occasions when it comes to T20 World Cup games, dating back to 2009 in Taunton. However, the Women in Green have lost all the games. The latest encounter between them took place in Dubai in the 2024 edition when Harmanpreet Kaur and co. chased down 106 with eight wickets to spare.

With the Indian team clinching their maiden 50-over World Cup title last year, they will be high on confidence during the T20 World Cup. Pakistan, on the other hand, ended their 2025 Women's World Cup campaign winless. India will equally face a herculean task in the group stage as heavyweights in Australia and South Africa are included in Group 1 too.

Here's how the groups are divided:

Group 1: Australia, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Netherlands
Group 2: West Indies, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland

New Zealand, who clinched the title by defeating South Africa in 2024, will start their campaign against the West Indies on June 13 Saturday at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton. The White Ferns will back themselves to defend the title successfully in a group which also consists of Sri Lanka, Ireland and Scotland.

Both semi-finals are slated to take place at The Oval on June 30 and July 2. The final is scheduled to take place on July 5 at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground.
