WTC Points Table 2025-27: Pakistan registered a morale-boosting eight-wicket victory over West Indies in the second Test at Queen’s Park Oval on Wednesday to level the two-match series 1-1. Chasing a target of just 75, the visitors cruised to 77/2 after lunch, with captain Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique remaining unbeaten on 24 each. The win marked Pakistan’s second victory of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle and ended their three-year wait for an overseas Test triumph. It also ended an eight-match losing streak away from home and handed Pakistan their first Test win in the Caribbean since 2021, leading to a notable improvement in the latest WTC standings.

Pakistan Move Above West Indies in WTC 2025-27 Standings

Pakistan’s win was based on disciplined bowling and Abdullah Shafique’s match-winning century in the first innings. After bowling West Indies out for 164, Pakistan responded with 250 to secure an 86-run lead, thanks largely to Shafique’s superb 120. In the second innings, spinners Sajid Khan (4/32) and Ali Usman (4/39) dismantled the hosts, bundling them out for 117 before Pakistan comfortably completed the chase.

The result lifted Pakistan from the bottom of the World Test Championship table to eighth place. Their points percentage (PCT) jumped from 6.67 to 22.22, allowing them to overtake West Indies, who slipped to ninth after their PCT dropped to 20.83.

Australia continue to dominate the WTC standings with a remarkable PCT of 87.50 after winning seven of their eight Tests. Defending champions South Africa remain second with 75.00, while New Zealand, Bangladesh and India complete the top five.
