One of the biggest and most thrilling events in WWE centers around a massive steel structure known as the Elimination Chamber. This brutal match usually features six wrestlers competing inside a locked steel cage.
The contest starts with two superstars in the ring, while the other four are sealed inside clear pods around the chamber. After a fixed time, one pod opens, and another wrestler enters the match. This process continues until all six participants are involved.
Wrestlers are knocked out of the match through pinfall or submission, and the battle continues until just one competitor remains to claim victory.
The WWE Elimination Chamber was created by Triple H and introduced by Eric Bischoff in 2002. The first match took place at Survivor Series at Madison Square Garden.
Originally only for men, the match included women for the first time in 2018. Today, the winner usually earns a WrestleMania opportunity, making it a key event on the road to WWE’s biggest show.
