CM Punk didn’t hold back at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on the March 2, 2026, episode of Monday Night RAW. What started as some sharp trash talk between him and Roman Reigns quickly turned ugly. Punk, the World Heavyweight Champion, went straight for the jugular as he brought up Roman’s late father, WWE Hall of Famer Sika Anoa’i, and the tension in the air shifted from rivalry to outright animosity.
Roman Reigns kicked things off by demanding the Indianapolis crowd acknowledge him. That didn’t last long as Punk stormed out, threw shade at Reigns for being a part-timer, and took a dig at his social media habits. Things heated up fast. Reigns shot back, dropped Punk’s real name, “Phil,” and called him thin-skinned. He didn’t stop there, either. Reigns said Punk looked worn out after his Elimination Chamber win and promised he’d send him packing on a “John Cena retirement tour” once he took the title at WrestleMania 42.
You look tired, Phil. You looked tired in the Elimination Chamber, and you look tired now. I’m going to help you make as much money as possible on your way out, and then I’m going to send you to NXT to train the kids I’m already better than.” Roman said.
In response, Punk hit a raw spot by taking on Sika Anoa’i, Roman Reigns’ legendary father, who just died.
CM Punk really went personal with that one…

“I’m gonna bury you next to your father.”
That’s not normal promo talk. That’s crossing the line on purpose. You can tell they’re fully committing to making this WrestleMania match feel real, uncomfortable, and intense.

Reigns has ruled WWE for years, but after losing his “Wiseman” Paul Heyman and his Bloodline cousins like The Rock and Solo Sikoa, he’s suddenly out on his own. No backup. Nothing to hide behind.
