WWE SmackDown on Friday, March 6, 2026, shook things up at the Moda Centre in Portland. The chaos from Elimination Chamber was still hanging in the air, and the night didn’t disappoint as fans got a brand-new Undisputed WWE Champion, plus fresh number one contenders in the tag team division. With WrestleMania 42 coming up fast, Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre clashed in a main event that had everyone talking.
Cody Rhodes Dethrones Drew McIntyre To Win Undisputed WWE Title
This match felt like it belonged in the WrestleMania main event. Cody Rhodes went head-to-head with Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship, and you could tell right away that these two have real bad blood. McIntyre kept ruining Cody’s chances ever since their brutal Three Stages of Hell fight, and things finally boiled over. The action was delivered. Tables broke, refs got knocked around, and nobody held back.
At one point, after Cody somehow survived a Claymore, McIntyre snapped and reached for a steel chair. That’s when Jacob Fatu showed up out of nowhere and stopped him cold. Suddenly, with McIntyre distracted, Cody dodged another Claymore, hit a Cody Cutter, and finished things off with a Cross Rhodes.
Trick Williams Meets The RKO
Randy Orton kicked off the show, fresh from winning the 2026 Men’s Elimination Chamber, and started talking about what he’s got planned for WrestleMania. Didn’t take long for Trick Williams to jump in and try to steal the spotlight. He threw a few shots at Orton, talking trash and saying he deserved the WrestleMania spot instead. But Orton wasn’t having any of it. He nailed Williams with a brutal RKO right in the middle of his rant, to remind everyone backstage that he’s still the most dangerous guy in WWE.
