WWE SmackDown Tonight (May 8): Cody Rhodes To Address Attack By Gunther, Tiffany Stratton Defends Her Women’s United States Championship

WWE SmackDown May 8: WWE SmackDown will air live from Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. It will be the final episode before WWE Backlash over the weekend. The story from tonight’s show could very well be from the Women’s division, where the Fatal Influence has challenged top female wrestlers since their debut on the blue brand. Meanwhile, reigning Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is set to make an appearance on the episode. Rhodes would be expected to address the surprise attack on him by Gunther last week. It was also announced that the funeral for Gingerbread Man will be held this week.

The Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, will host WWE SmackDown on May 8. A six-person tag team match in the women’s division, and a major title match will be featured on the show. Cody Rhodes and other well-known celebrities will appear at the same time. WWE SmackDown: Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Rhea Ripley vs Fatal Influence

Fatal Influence has made a huge splash in the WWE Women’s Division, posing a new challenge. Since their debut, Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Lainey Reid have pursued the top veterans on the Blue Brand; on Friday, Jayne defeated Charlotte Flair in a decisive victory. WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley will now team up with Charlotte and Alexa Bliss to fight Fatal Influence in a six-woman tag bout tonight in a classic example of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” 

WWE Women’s United States Championship: Tiffany Stratton vs Kiana James

Tiffany Stratton won the Women’s United States Championship two weeks ago after defeating Giulia. Stratton will now face Giulia’s friend Kiana James in her first title defense. In their three singles encounters, Stratton has prevailed over James each time. 

WWE SmackDown: Cody Rhodes to make appearance

It has been announced that Cody Rhodes, the Undisputed WWE Champion, will appear on this week’s program. He’ll probably talk about Gunther’s unexpected attack on him on SmackDown last week.
