AirPods Pro 4 Release Date: Apple’s next premium wireless earbuds could become one of the company’s most interesting accessories if the latest rumours are accurate. However, buyers should not expect a straightforward annual upgrade.

Apple launched the AirPods Pro 3 in September 2025, so a new Pro model in 2026 would represent a much faster refresh cycle than the company has followed in recent years.

Reports currently point to a possible new AirPods Pro model in 2026, while Apple’s more ambitious camera-equipped AirPods could arrive later. That has created uncertainty around the AirPods 4 name, launch date and feature set.

AirPods Pro 4 Release Date (Expected)

Apple has not confirmed an AirPods Pro 4 launch date. Based on current reports, late 2026 is possible, with September emerging as the most likely window if Apple decides to introduce a new Pro model alongside its annual iPhone event.

However, the timing remains uncertain because Apple only launched the AirPods Pro 3 in September 2025. The company made the Pro 3 available for pre-order immediately after its announcement, with store availability beginning September 19, 2025.

AirPods Pro 4 Price (Expected)

Apple has not revealed the expected price of the AirPods Pro 4. The current AirPods Pro 3 starts at $249 in the US and ₹25,900 in India.

If Apple treats the next model as a direct successor, the company could keep pricing close to the existing level. However, more advanced hardware could push the price higher.

AirPods Pro 4 Price in India (Expected)

For now, a reasonable expectation is that the next Pro model could remain around the ₹25,000–₹30,000 range in India, depending on the final specifications and positioning.

There is no official price leak that buyers should treat as confirmed.

AirPods Pro 4 Launch Date in India (Expected)

India is likely to remain an important market for Apple’s AirPods lineup. Apple launched AirPods Pro 3 in India at ₹25,900, alongside its wider international rollout.

If Apple follows a similar strategy in 2026, the next Pro model could arrive in India either on the same day as other major markets or within a short period of the global launch.

A September 2026 launch would therefore be the most optimistic expectation, while September–October 2026 provides a safer window until Apple confirms its plans.

AirPods Pro 4 Specifications (Expected)

Apple has not announced the specifications of the AirPods Pro 4. Rumours instead point towards improvements in processing, audio quality, noise cancellation and AI-related features.

The biggest potential upgrade could come from a newer Apple audio chip. Several reports and leaks have discussed an H3 chip, although Apple has not confirmed the name or specifications.

  • New-generation Apple audio chip, potentially called H3
  • Improved Active Noise Cancellation
  • Better sound quality
  • Enhanced Adaptive EQ
  • Improved Spatial Audio
  • Lower latency
  • Better battery efficiency
  • Improved microphone performance
  • AI-related features
  • Potential gesture controls
  • Wireless charging case
  • Improved integration with Apple’s ecosystem

The current AirPods Pro 3 already brought major upgrades, including improved ANC, a redesigned fit, heart-rate sensing and Live Translation. That means Apple would need to deliver meaningful hardware or software improvements to make another Pro model attractive so soon after the Pro 3.

AirPods Pro 4 Camera Rumours (Expected)

One of the most unusual rumours surrounding Apple’s future AirPods involves tiny infrared cameras.

Reports have suggested that Apple is exploring AirPods equipped with small cameras or infrared sensors. These would not replace smartphone cameras. Instead, they could help the earbuds understand the user’s surroundings and support new interaction methods.

Potential applications include environmental awareness, gesture recognition and deeper integration with Apple’s AI systems.

However, the camera-equipped version now appears more likely to arrive in 2027 rather than 2026. That distinction matters because the AirPods Pro model Apple could launch in 2026 may not include cameras at all.

AirPods Pro 4 AI Features (Expected)

Apple could make AI a bigger part of its next-generation AirPods strategy. The company has already brought Apple Intelligence-related features to AirPods. AirPods Pro 3, for example, introduced Live Translation, allowing users to communicate across supported languages when paired with compatible Apple devices.

Future models could expand this approach. Possible future features could include:

  • Smarter Siri interactions
  • Context-aware assistance
  • Hand-gesture recognition
  • Environmental recognition
  • Improved Live Translation
  • AI-assisted audio processing
  • Better personalised sound

Apple has not confirmed any of these features for the AirPods Pro 4.

AirPods Pro 4 Design and Controls (Expected)

Apple could retain the familiar AirPods Pro form factor while making smaller changes to the earbuds and charging case. The company redesigned the AirPods Pro 3 for a better in-ear fit and greater stability during workouts. It also added IP57 protection and heart-rate sensing.

The next model could build on that design rather than introducing a completely different shape. Gesture controls could become more important if Apple eventually adds infrared cameras. Users could potentially control certain functions through hand movements without touching their phone or earbuds.

However, those features remain part of the rumour cycle and should not be treated as confirmed specifications.

AirPods Pro 4 Audio and Noise Cancellation (Expected)

Audio quality and ANC are likely to remain two of the most important areas for Apple’s next Pro earbuds.

Apple described AirPods Pro 3 as offering its best in-ear Active Noise Cancellation at launch, with the company claiming up to twice as much noise reduction compared with the previous generation.

The AirPods Pro 4 could therefore focus on making ANC more adaptive and improving sound processing rather than simply increasing the number of microphones or changing the physical design.

A new chip could also help Apple improve processing efficiency while maintaining strong noise cancellation.

AirPods Pro 4 Battery Life (Expected)

Apple has not revealed the battery capacity or expected battery life of the AirPods Pro 4. The company did increase battery life with AirPods Pro 3, so another improvement remains possible.

A newer chip could help Apple balance additional processing with power consumption. If Apple adds cameras or sensors in a future model, however, those components could also increase energy demands.

That is another reason why the camera-equipped AirPods may require additional development before Apple brings them to market.

AirPods Pro 4 Vision Pro Integration (Expected)

Apple could eventually position its AirPods as an important companion for the Vision Pro.

Camera-equipped AirPods could potentially help Apple create a more immersive spatial computing experience by combining environmental information from the earbuds with Apple’s other devices.

The reported infrared camera technology could also assist with gesture recognition and spatial awareness.

However, these capabilities appear more closely linked to the rumoured 2027 camera AirPods than a potential 2026 refresh.

AirPods Pro 4: Will It Launch With iPhone 18 Pro Max?

The AirPods Pro 4 could launch around the same time as the iPhone 18 Pro Max, but Apple has not confirmed that both products will debut at the same event.

Current reports point to a major Apple event in September 2026, with the iPhone 18 Pro and the company’s first foldable iPhone expected to headline the event. Some reports suggest September 9 as a possible event date, although Apple has not officially confirmed it.

If Apple has a new AirPods Pro model ready, the September event would provide a logical platform to introduce it. However, Apple could also announce the earbuds separately.

AirPods Pro 4 Expected Colours

Apple has not revealed the colour options for the AirPods Pro 4. The company traditionally keeps AirPods relatively simple compared with the iPhone lineup, so buyers should not expect a large range of colour choices.

Apple could retain the classic white finish for the next Pro model, although a small change to the charging case or accessories cannot be ruled out. Any specific colour leak should be treated cautiously until reliable images or Apple’s official announcement emerge.

AirPods Pro 4 Rumours: What All Is Confirmed So Far?

Very little about the AirPods Pro 4 itself is officially confirmed. What we know is that Apple launched AirPods Pro 3 in September 2025, making a 2026 successor possible but unusually quick. The Pro 3 introduced improved ANC, a redesigned fit, heart-rate sensing, longer battery life and Live Translation.

The biggest future AirPods rumours involve:

  • A possible H3 chip
  • Improved ANC
  • More advanced AI features
  • Better Siri integration
  • Gesture controls
  • Infrared camera technology
  • Improved Vision Pro integration
  • A possible 2027 launch for camera-equipped AirPods

The camera rumours have received significant attention, but they should not be confused with confirmed AirPods Pro 4 specifications.

AirPods Pro 4 vs AirPods Pro 3: What Could Change?

The AirPods Pro 3 already offers a substantial feature set, including heart-rate tracking, improved ANC, IP57 durability and Live Translation. A new model would therefore need to offer more than a minor audio improvement.

Feature AirPods Pro 3 AirPods Pro 4 Expected
Chip Current-generation Apple chip New chip, potentially H3
ANC Advanced ANC Further improvement expected
Heart-rate sensing Yes Expected
Live Translation Yes Expected
AI features Apple Intelligence integration Potentially expanded
Cameras No Unclear; more likely later
Gesture controls Limited Potentially expanded
Vision Pro integration Spatial Audio Potentially deeper
Price ₹25,900 in India Expected ₹25,000–₹30,000
Launch September 2025 September 2026, if launched

AirPods Pro 4 Expected Competition

The next AirPods Pro will continue to compete in the premium wireless-earbud segment against products from Samsung, Sony, Bose and other audio brands.

Apple’s biggest advantage will remain its ecosystem. Features such as seamless pairing, Spatial Audio, Siri integration and Apple Intelligence work best when users pair the earbuds with compatible Apple devices.

That makes the AirPods Pro 4 particularly relevant for iPhone 18 Pro Max buyers.

AirPods Pro 4: What to Expect?

The AirPods Pro 4 remains an uncertain product for now. Apple has not confirmed its name, launch date, price or specifications.

The most likely scenario is that Apple could introduce a new Pro model in late 2026, potentially around the same time as the iPhone 18 Pro Max. However, reports about camera-equipped AirPods increasingly point towards 2027, meaning the 2026 model could focus on audio, ANC, processing and AI improvements instead.

For buyers, the biggest question is therefore not simply whether Apple will launch the AirPods Pro 4. It is what kind of upgrade Apple plans to deliver.
