Will iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max Launch in China?

It is highly anticipated that the two upcoming devices, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, will form the crux of the upcoming September announcement from Apple. However, so far, there have been no official announcements made by Apple regarding the naming of the phones before the announcement event.

China is an essential launch market for Apple. Last year, mainland China was included among the 63 markets that received the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max in the initial phase of launch. The pre-order started at 8 p.m., China time, on September 12, 2025, while retail launch occurred from September 19.

Will Apple Launch the Foldable iPhone in China?

Apple’s foldable iPhone might be one of the highlights of the event while reuters states that Apple is set to launch its first-ever foldable iPhone, analysts predicting that the price tag for the device will exceed $2,000. China plays an important role since Huawei and Xiaomi are dominating in the field of foldable phones.

Reuters mentioned that Huawei secured 68% share in China’s foldable smartphones market during Q2 2026. In other words, entering this category means entering one of the most contested foldable phone markets around the globe.

iPhone 18 Pro Pre-Order Date China

Apple has not yet officially announced the 2026 China pre-order date. Assuming Apple follows the same schedule as last year, then September 12, 2026, could be considered a sensible prediction, but it is still speculation at this point. Last year, Apple began taking iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max pre-orders in China on September 12 at 8 p.m. CST.

iPhone 18 Pro Pre-Order Time China

The exact 2026 pre-order time is not yet confirmed.

As Apple’s China pre-orders for 2025 began at 8:00 p.m. CST. As such, should Apple follow the same timeline, there will be evening pre-orders in China once again; however, consumers must wait until Apple confirms this.

iPhone 18 Pro Release Date China

Release date is also expected to be around September 18, 2026 on retail basis according to Apple’s usual launching process but there is no confirmation from Apple for the date. The last generation was released in mainland China on September 19, 2025, with pre-orders on September 12.

iPhone 18 Pro Expected Price in China

Apple has not announced the China price for the iPhone 18 Pro series. As the current iPhone 17 Pro starts at RMB 8,999, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at RMB 9,999 in mainland China.

Expected pricing should therefore be viewed against those figures:

• iPhone 18 Pro: potentially around RMB 8,999 or higher
• iPhone 18 Pro Max: potentially around RMB 9,999 or higher
• Foldable iPhone: likely substantially more expensive

These are estimates, not Apple-confirmed prices.

iPhone 18 Pro Expected Colors in China

The final colors have not been confirmed while reports have discussed new premium finishes, but Apple traditionally keeps the final color lineup secret until launch.

Possible colors being discussed include:

• Dark red or burgundy
• Silver
• Light blue
• A darker premium finish

Buyers should treat all leaked color names as provisional until Apple displays the devices officially.

Will Standard iPhone 18 Launch in September?

It could turn out to be one of the most drastic shifts from Apple’s standard launch pattern. According to recent reports, Apple may choose to focus its September launch event on its expensive Pro variants and the foldable iPhones, leaving budget devices to come out at a later date. Reuters says that Apple is shifting its launch strategy and may even consider delaying budget device launches until spring. It means that customers cannot expect every variant of iPhone 18 in September.

iPhone 18 China: What Buyers Should Know

China is still an important market for Apple’s iPhone, and this was shown by its release last year. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max was released simultaneously in China with many other key markets around the world, with pricing at RMB 8,999 and RMB 9,999 respectively.

For the 2026 buyer, some important factors will be whether the Pro series is released immediately, if the foldable iPhone is released in China simultaneously and how much Apple prices the new hardware. Most importantly, the buyer must be able to differentiate between official and unofficial information on the iPhone.
