Apple has increased the official prices of several iPhone models in India following the launch of its latest iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Instead of reducing the prices of previous-generation models, the company has made a number of them considerably more expensive. The revised pricing applies to the iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, iPhone Air and iPhone 16. The biggest increase has been recorded on the 1TB variant of the iPhone Air.
iPhone 17 New Price In India
The iPhone 17 has become more expensive across both storage configurations.
•   256GB: Rs 99,900, earlier Rs 82,900Â
•   512GB: Rs 1,24,900, earlier Rs 1,02,900
This translates to increases of Rs 17,000 and Rs 22,000, respectively.
iPhone Air Price Hiked By Up To Rs 65,000
The iPhone Air has received the sharpest price revision among the affected models.
•   256GB: Rs 1,49,900, up from Rs 1,19,900Â
•   512GB: Rs 1,74,900, up from Rs 1,39,900Â
•   1TB: Rs 2,24,900, up from Rs 1,59,900
The 1TB model has therefore become Rs 65,000 more expensive than its previous official price.
iPhone 17e Gets New Price
Apple has also revised the pricing of the iPhone 17e in India.
•   256GB: Rs 79,900, earlier Rs 64,900Â
•   512GB: Rs 1,04,900, earlier Rs 84,900
The two variants have consequently become Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 costlier.
iPhone 16 Price Increased
The iPhone 16 has also seen a significant price revision. The 128GB variant, which was previously available for Rs 69,900, is now listed at Rs 89,900 in India. This represents a Rs 20,000 increase.
iPhone 18 Pro Series Launched
The price revisions follow Apple’s launch of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. In India, the iPhone 18 Pro starts at Rs 1,64,900, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max carries a starting price of Rs 1,79,900.
Apple also unveiled the iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, during the launch event.
Why Did Apple Increase iPhone Prices?
The latest price changes come amid rising costs of key components, particularly memory chips. Demand for memory components has increased significantly as technology companies continue to invest heavily in artificial intelligence systems and data centres. The tighter supply of memory components has pushed manufacturers to deal with higher production costs. Smartphone and electronics companies have increasingly been passing some of these expenses on to consumers.
Apple’s price revisions therefore mean that buyers looking for an older iPhone at a lower official price after the arrival of a new generation may not get the expected discount this time. For Indian consumers, the difference is particularly notable on higher-storage models, with the 1TB iPhone Air now costing Rs 2,24,900.
