What to Expect From Apple’s September 2026 Event
The September event could become one of Apple’s biggest product launches in years. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to headline the event, while Apple could also introduce its first foldable iPhone.
Reuters reports that Apple is expected to unveil a foldable iPhone that could carry a price tag above $2,000. The company is also expected to update its premium Pro and Pro Max models while delaying some other iPhone updates until a later period.
The foldable iPhone could represent Apple’s biggest smartphone design change since the removal of the Home button. Apple is expected to focus heavily on the device’s hinge, display crease and overall durability as it enters a market already led by companies such as Samsung and Huawei.

The September 9 event also carries additional significance because it marks John Ternus’ first major Apple product launch as CEO.
Ternus succeeded Tim Cook as Apple CEO on September 1 after spending years leading the company’s hardware engineering organisation. His first major keynote comes at a crucial time for Apple as the company looks to strengthen its position in smartphones, foldables and artificial intelligence.
The foldable iPhone could therefore become an important early test of Ternus’ leadership. Apple will need to convince customers that its approach to foldable hardware can offer meaningful advantages over products that Samsung, Huawei and other manufacturers have already developed.
