iPhone 18 Pro Max Launch in Australia: For Apple fans in Australia, the wait is almost over, although watching the company’s biggest iPhone event of the year will require staying up late or waking up very early. Apple is preparing to unveil its latest premium iPhones at the ‘Surprise and shine’ event, with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max expected to take centre stage.
The event takes place on September 9 in the US, but the time difference means Australian viewers will watch it on Thursday, September 10. Apple has scheduled the keynote for 3:00 AM AEST, while viewers in Western Australia can tune in from 1:00 AM AWST. Apple will stream the event online through its official website and Apple TV app, with YouTube also available for viewers.
This year’s event could be particularly important for Apple because it marks the company’s first major iPhone launch under new CEO John Ternus. The company is also expected to enter the foldable-phone market with its first foldable iPhone. Reuters describes the move as one of Apple’s biggest iPhone changes since the iPhone X.

iPhone 18 Pro Max Launch in Australia: Where to Watch iPhone 18 Pro Max Launch Live Streaming
Apple is giving viewers several ways to follow the launch.
Apple Website
The easiest option is Apple’s official Events website. The livestream can be watched using a compatible web browser on a Mac, iPhone, iPad, PC or other supported device.
Apple TV App
Australian viewers can also watch the event through the Apple TV app. Apple has confirmed the event listing on its Australian website.
YouTube
Apple will also stream the event on its official YouTube channel. Viewers can set a reminder ahead of the presentation so they receive a notification when the livestream begins.
This gives Australian viewers a simple option if they plan to watch the event on a smart TV, laptop or Android phone.
iPhone 18 Pro Max Launch in Australia: What is Apple Expected to Launch?
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to be the main attractions of the September event.
Reports point to upgrades across the processor, camera system and display. The Pro models could receive Apple’s next-generation A20 Pro chip, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max could bring additional camera improvements.
However, Apple has not officially confirmed the specifications of these phones ahead of the event.
iPhone 18 Pro Max Launch in Australia: First Foldable iPhone Could Be the Biggest Surprise
The biggest announcement may not be the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Apple is widely expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone, which reports have variously called the iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold. Reuters says the device could cost more than US$2,000, placing it firmly in Apple’s premium product category.
The foldable could feature a book-style design, allowing users to open the phone into a much larger display. Reports have suggested an external screen of around 5.5 inches and an internal display approaching 7.8 inches.
If Apple confirms the device, it will enter a foldable market where Samsung, Google and other manufacturers already have several years of experience.
iPhone 18 Pro Max Launch in Australia: Will Apple Launch the Regular iPhone 18?
This year’s September event could look different from Apple’s traditional iPhone launches.
Reports indicate that Apple may focus on its premium iPhone 18 Pro models and the foldable iPhone rather than launching the entire iPhone 18 family at the same time.
The standard iPhone 18 and other lower-priced models could arrive later, potentially in spring 2027. Reuters also reports that Apple is changing its product schedule by concentrating the September launch on its higher-end models.
That would make the September event more of a premium iPhone showcase than the usual launch of the complete iPhone range.
iPhone 18 Pro Max Launch in Australia: Apple Watch and AirPods Could Also Be Announced
The iPhone may dominate the keynote, but Apple could have several other products ready.
Reports suggest the company could introduce new Apple Watch models and AirPods, adding more hardware announcements to an already packed event. MacRumors expects new Apple Watch models alongside the iPhone 18 Pro range and a foldable iPhone.
Apple could also reveal software release dates and additional updates during the presentation.
iPhone 18 Pro Max Launch in Australia: What to Expect
Apple has not yet confirmed Australian pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max. Leaked reports have suggested that Apple could increase prices for its new premium models, while the foldable iPhone could sit substantially higher than the regular Pro lineup.
Some pre-launch reports have also suggested an Australian starting price of around AU$3,699 for the foldable iPhone, although that figure remains unconfirmed.
Australian buyers should therefore wait for Apple’s official pricing announcement before treating any leaked figure as final.
iPhone 18 Pro Max Launch in Australia: Why the September 9 Apple Event Matters
Apple’s latest keynote could mark the beginning of a new chapter for the company.
John Ternus will lead his first major iPhone launch as CEO after taking over from Tim Cook. At the same time, Apple could finally enter the foldable smartphone market with a device that has been rumoured for years.
The company is also reportedly changing its traditional iPhone launch strategy by separating its premium models from the standard lineup.
That makes this year’s event important not only for people planning to buy an iPhone 18 Pro Max, but also for anyone interested in the direction Apple takes with its smartphone business.
