iPhone 18 Pro Storage & Specs: Apple has officially announced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, introducing major upgrades across storage, camera capabilities, performance, battery life and artificial intelligence.

The new Pro models are available with storage capacities ranging from 256GB to 2TB, while Apple has introduced the A20 Pro chip, a new thermal-management system and a redesigned 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture.

The iPhone 18 Pro lineup also comes with iOS 27, Apple Intelligence and Siri AI, along with an updated Dynamic Island and new connectivity technologies.

iPhone 18 Pro Storage Options: 256GB To 2TB

Apple has confirmed four storage configurations for both the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Buyers can choose from:

• 256GB

• 512GB

• 1TB

• 2TB

The 2TB option gives the iPhone 18 Pro series its largest-ever storage configuration, making it particularly relevant for users who regularly capture high-resolution photos and videos or store large files and applications directly on their device.

iPhone 18 Pro Camera Specs: New 48MP Variable Aperture Main Camera

One of the biggest upgrades on the iPhone 18 Pro is the new 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture.

According to Apple, this marks the first time the iPhone offers aperture control, giving users more flexibility over depth of field and lighting.

The camera uses six laser-cut blades that can transition between aperture settings. Users can also manually select from four aperture settings through the Camera app.

Apple says the new sensor and computational photography system are designed to improve image quality, including low-light performance and detail in group photographs.

iPhone 18 Pro Pro Camera Controls

The new Pro controls provide more manual options within the Camera app.

Users can adjust settings including:

• Lens aperture

• Shutter speed

• White balance

• Exposure levels through a histogram

Apple has also upgraded Photographic Styles with additional texture and grain controls.

For video, Apple says users can apply Cinematic effects after recording to footage captured at up to 60 frames per second. Time-lapse recording also supports 4K and Dolby Vision HDR.

Apple Reference Image: New Photo Authenticity Feature

Apple is introducing a new Reference Image feature aimed at helping users verify the authenticity of photographs captured on the iPhone 18 Pro.

The feature uses signed sensor data from the Main camera to create an unalterable reference image through Private Cloud Compute. Users can view the reference alongside the original photograph in the Photos app to help determine whether changes were made.

Apple also says image metadata and planned support for the SynthID standard can help users identify images that have been generated or edited using AI.

iPhone 18 Pro Performance: A20 Pro Chip

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are powered by Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, built using a 2-nanometer process.

Apple says the A20 Pro features 50% more memory bandwidth than the A19 Pro and includes a six-core CPU with integrated Neural Accelerators.

The chip also features a seven-core GPU that Apple says can deliver up to 40% faster graphics performance than A19 Pro.

For artificial intelligence workloads, the A20 Pro includes a new dual 16-core Neural Engine, with 32 total cores, which Apple says provides twice the AI processing power of A19 Pro.

iPhone 18 Pro Vapor Chamber And Sustained Performance

Apple has also redesigned the thermal-management system in the iPhone 18 Pro models.

The new vapor chamber has three times more surface area than the previous generation on iPhone 17 Pro, according to Apple.

The company says the new design can deliver up to a 40% gain in sustained performance compared with the previous generation.

This could be particularly relevant for demanding workloads such as gaming, video processing and on-device AI tasks.

iPhone 18 Pro Battery Life

Battery life is another major focus of the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.

Apple says eSIM-only versions offer:

The iPhone 18 Pro can charge to up to 50% in around 15 minutes, while wireless charging can reach up to 50% in approximately 30 minutes, according to Apple.

iPhone 18 Pro Dynamic Island Upgrade

The Dynamic Island has also received a redesign.

Apple says the smaller Dynamic Island can display three Live Activities simultaneously, while continuing to support Face ID for device unlocking, authentication and purchases.

The change is designed to provide users with more information while maintaining Apple’s Face ID functionality.

iPhone 18 Pro AI Features And Siri AI

The iPhone 18 Pro models run iOS 27 and support Apple’s latest Apple Intelligence features.

A major addition is the new Siri AI, which Apple says is rolling out in beta with iOS 27.

The upgraded Siri is designed to understand personal context and can work across areas such as messages, emails and photos. It also offers onscreen awareness, allowing it to take actions related to content displayed on the iPhone.

Apple says Siri can also provide information about objects and scenes through the Camera app.

Apple Intelligence And Privacy

Apple Intelligence uses a combination of on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute.

The company says this approach is intended to provide AI capabilities while maintaining privacy and security.

Other Apple Intelligence features include improvements to photo editing, Clean Up, Image Playground and Safari’s Notify Me functionality.

iPhone 18 Pro Connectivity: Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 And C2 Modem

The iPhone 18 Pro models feature Apple’s new N1 wireless networking chip, which supports:

The iPhone 18 Pro also introduces Apple’s C2 cellular modem system.

Apple says C2 delivers faster uploads compared with C1X while using 15% less energy, and it supports mmWave in the U.S.

Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 in the U.S., while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299.

Pre-orders will begin on Saturday, September 12, at 5 a.m. PT, with availability starting Friday, September 18 in more than 65 countries and regions.

India is among the markets listed by Apple for the initial availability.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will become available in another 20 countries and regions from September 25.

iOS 27 And Siri AI Release Date

Apple says iOS 27 will be available as a free software update on Monday, September 14.

Apple Intelligence will also become available with iOS 27 for supported devices and languages.

Siri AI will initially roll out as a beta in English, with support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish scheduled for October.
