iPhone Ultra Leaks: Apple is all set to launch its first-ever foldable iPhone, which is widely expected to be known as iPhone Ultra. The phone is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 18 flagship series at the September 9 Surprise and Shine launch event. Now, just a few days before its official debut, a high-quality mock-up has given Apple fans their clearest unofficial look yet at what the company’s first foldable iPhone could look like.

The prototype appeared in a video from YouTube channel Unbox Therapy, where host Lewis Hilsenteger showed what was described as a Chinese-made mock-up of the rumoured device. The video has attracted more than 1.9 million views, adding fresh momentum to speculation that Apple could finally enter the foldable smartphone market this week.

Apple has not confirmed the foldable iPhone itself. The company has officially confirmed its September 9 “Surprise and Shine” event, but it has not announced which products will appear on stage.

iPhone Ultra Leaks: Is the Apple Foldable iPhone Unboxing Video Leaked?

A viral iPhone Fold “unboxing” video has sparked fresh speculation ahead of Apple’s September 9 event. However, the video appears to show a mock-up or prototype rather than a confirmed retail iPhone, so it should not be treated as an official Apple leak.

The video gives viewers a closer look at the rumoured book-style foldable design, but Apple has yet to confirm the device, its final design or even the “iPhone Ultra” name.

iPhone Ultra Leaks: Viral Mock-Up Gives Detailed Look of New Foldable iPhone

The Unbox Therapy video has brought together several details that have appeared separately in earlier leaks. The alleged device uses a book-style folding design. It works like a regular smartphone when closed, while opening it exposes a much larger internal display.

That overall design matches previous dummy units and reports about Apple’s first foldable. Earlier leaked models have also pointed to a roughly 5.5-inch outer screen and a 7.8-inch inner display.

The latest mock-up therefore does not establish Apple’s final design, but it does show how closely the current leak cycle has converged around one particular form factor.

iPhone Ultra Leaks: 5.5-Inch Outer Screen, 7.8-Inch Inner Display (Expected)

The biggest change for users would come when the phone opens.

Reports have repeatedly pointed to an outer display of around 5.5 inches and an internal screen of approximately 7.8 inches. The larger panel would give the device a screen area closer to a small tablet than a traditional iPhone.

That could make the foldable useful for watching videos, browsing websites, gaming and multitasking without carrying a separate tablet.

The challenge for Apple will be making the software feel natural across both displays. Developers would need to support a significantly different screen ratio and allow apps to transition smoothly when the phone opens and closes.

iPhone Ultra Leaks: Two Rear Cameras Could Be Coming (Expected)

The mock-up also appears to show two rear cameras.

That detail matches earlier reports and leaked dummy units, which have suggested that Apple could choose a dual-camera system rather than the triple-camera setup used on its Pro iPhones.

However, the exact camera sensors, megapixel counts and image-processing capabilities remain unknown.

The camera layout shown on a third-party mock-up should therefore not be treated as confirmation of Apple’s final hardware. Manufacturers of dummy units can build their products using leaked dimensions, renders and industry information.

iPhone Ultra Leaks: Visible Crease Could Be the Biggest Question (Expected)

One detail immediately stands out on the mock-up: the fold in the centre of the inner display is clearly visible.

That could become one of the biggest talking points if Apple unveils a foldable this week.

Apple’s rivals have spent years trying to reduce the visibility of folding creases. Previous reports have suggested that Apple’s own design aims for a less noticeable crease, although the company has not confirmed such a specification. Earlier dummy units have also shown a visible line across the internal screen.

This means the crease on the Chinese mock-up should not be considered evidence of the final retail product.

Apple could use different display technology or hinge engineering in the production version.

iPhone Ultra Leaks: Extra Controls Near the Hinge? (Expected)

The prototype also appears to have additional controls around the upper section and hinge area.

Their exact purpose remains unclear.

Some speculation suggests they could relate to the folding mechanism or camera controls, but neither Apple nor the manufacturer of the mock-up has confirmed their function.

This is another reason to treat the video as a design preview rather than a confirmed product leak.

iPhone Ultra Leaks: Could Apple Call It the iPhone Ultra? (Expected)

The product’s name remains another major mystery.

“iPhone Fold” has become the most common name used by fans and media because it describes the product directly. However, recent reports increasingly suggest that Apple could use the iPhone Ultra branding instead.

Apple has not confirmed either name.

The company could ultimately introduce the phone under a completely different name, meaning the branding will remain uncertain until Apple officially announces it.

iPhone Ultra Price Leak: Foldable Could Cost More Than $2,000 (Expected)

Price could be another major hurdle.

Recent reports have placed Apple’s first foldable in the $2,000-plus range, putting it far above most conventional iPhones. The Financial Times has also reported that Apple is preparing for a foldable priced above $2,000, while other reports have placed expectations around the $2,000 mark.

Such pricing would position the device as a premium product rather than a mainstream replacement for the regular iPhone.

For Indian customers, the final price could rise further because of taxes, duties and local pricing decisions. Apple has not announced an India price for any foldable iPhone.

iPhone Ultra Leaks: Why the September 9 Event Matters?

Apple has officially confirmed its “Surprise and shine” event for September 9.

The company will stream the event online through Apple.com and the Apple TV app, while Apple has also listed the event for 10:30 p.m. IST in India.

The foldable iPhone remains part of the rumour cycle, but several major reports expect Apple to introduce its first foldable alongside its premium iPhone lineup. Reuters reported that Apple is expected to unveil its latest iPhone series and could also introduce its first foldable device at the event.

The Verge and Indian Express have similarly reported expectations for a foldable device, potentially called the iPhone Ultra, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

iPhone Ultra Leaks: iPhone Fold Mock-Up Is Not the Final Product

The viral Unbox Therapy video has certainly increased excitement around Apple’s possible entry into the foldable market. But the distinction between a mock-up and an Apple product remains crucial.

The prototype can show how current leaks and industry expectations have shaped the expected design. It cannot confirm Apple’s final specifications, camera hardware, software, price or even the product’s name.

Those answers could come on September 9.

If Apple does unveil the device, the company will enter a foldable market that Samsung and other manufacturers have already developed for years. The bigger question will then be whether Apple’s approach can justify the expected premium price and persuade existing iPhone users to make the switch to a completely new form factor.
