iPhone Ultra Price Leak in India: Apple’s first foldable iPhone could become the company’s most expensive smartphone yet, with the latest pricing forecast putting its starting price above $2,000.

The device, widely referred to as the iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold, is expected to make its debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro Max at Apple’s September 9 event. Apple has confirmed the event, although it has not officially revealed the name, price or specifications of the foldable iPhone.

Apple’s first foldable could start at $2,099-$2,299, while the highest-end configurations could cost more than $3,000. For Indian buyers, that could translate into a starting price well above ₹2 lakh after Apple’s regional pricing, taxes and other costs are considered.

iPhone Ultra Price Leak in India

The latest iPhone Ultra price leak points to a significantly higher price than Apple’s current Pro Max models.

TrendForce estimates a starting US price of $2,099 to $2,299 for the foldable iPhone. At current exchange rates, that works out to roughly ₹1.98 lakh to ₹2.17 lakh before Indian taxes and other pricing factors.

The actual India price is expected to be higher than a simple dollar-to-rupee conversion. Apple’s India pricing also reflects GST, import-related costs and the company’s regional pricing strategy.

iPhone Ultra Price in India (Expected)

Apple has not announced the official India price of its first foldable iPhone.

Based on the latest global forecast, the expected starting price in India could be in the ₹2.3 lakh-₹2.5 lakh range. The final figure will depend on Apple’s storage options and regional pricing.

The device is expected to sit well above the iPhone 18 Pro Max in Apple’s lineup, making it a premium product aimed at customers willing to pay for a larger foldable display and a new form factor.

iPhone Ultra Launch Date in India

The iPhone Ultra is expected to be unveiled in India on September 9, 2026, alongside Apple’s new Pro iPhone models. Apple has officially confirmed its September 9 event, titled “Surprise and shine.” The event begins at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, which is 10:30 p.m. IST in India.

It is also expected that the iPhone 18 Fold, its tentative name for Apple’s foldable, will be part of the fall 2026 flagship launch.

However, the announcement date does not necessarily guarantee immediate retail availability. TrendForce has highlighted limited initial production and a relatively late shipment schedule for the foldable model.

iPhone Ultra Pre-Order Date in India (Expected)

Apple has not confirmed the iPhone Ultra’s pre-order date for India.

The iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to enter pre-orders shortly after the September 9 event, but the foldable could follow a different schedule because of its more complicated production requirements.

Recent reports have pointed to limited initial availability for the foldable iPhone, meaning Apple could announce the device on September 9 and begin sales later than the regular Pro models

iPhone Ultra Price in India: Storage Variants (Expected)

The iPhone Ultra is expected to offer multiple storage configurations, with reports pointing towards options ranging from 256GB to 2TB. Based on the current $2,099-$2,299 starting-price forecast and Apple’s premium pricing strategy, the estimated India pricing could look like this:

  • 256GB: ₹2,29,900 onwards
  • 512GB: ₹2,49,900 onwards
  • 1TB: ₹2,79,900 onwards
  • 2TB: ₹3,19,900 onwards

These are estimated prices and not official Apple India prices.

iPhone Ultra Price Leak: Could It Cross ₹3 Lakh?

Yes, the iPhone Ultra could potentially cross the ₹3 lakh mark in India. It is expected that top-end configurations could exceed $3,000. That is already more than ₹2.8 lakh before Indian taxes and Apple’s regional pricing are taken into account.

This makes the highest-storage iPhone Ultra a possible ₹3 lakh-plus smartphone in India. The starting model, however, is expected to remain closer to the ₹2 lakh-₹2.5 lakh range depending on Apple’s final India pricing.

The high price is also linked to the cost of building Apple’s first foldable device, including its specialised display, hinge and compact internal components.

iPhone Ultra: Why Is It So Expensive?

The iPhone Ultra’s high price is largely expected to come from the technology required to build Apple’s first foldable smartphone.

Reports point to a large foldable OLED display, a thin body, a sophisticated hinge and a design focused on reducing the visible crease. Apple is also expected to use premium internal hardware, including its next-generation A20 Pro chip.

The company is reportedly making hardware compromises in some areas to maintain a slim foldable profile. The phone is expected to use two rear cameras instead of the more extensive camera system found on the Pro Max.

iPhone Ultra Specifications

The latest leaks point to the following expected specifications:

iPhone Ultra Design Leaks

The iPhone Ultra is expected to use a book-style folding design, similar in concept to other large-screen foldable smartphones. When closed, the device could feature a 5.5-inch outer display. Opening it could reveal a much larger 7.8-inch inner OLED display.

Apple is reportedly focusing heavily on reducing the crease visible across the folding screen. The device is also expected to have a relatively thin profile despite containing two displays and a folding hinge.

iPhone Ultra Price Leak in India: What to Expect?

The iPhone Ultra is shaping up to be a very different proposition from Apple’s regular iPhone lineup.

The biggest talking point will be its price. With TrendForce estimating a $2,099-$2,299 starting price and more than $3,000 for top-end configurations, the foldable could become Apple’s most expensive iPhone yet.

For Indian buyers, the starting price could land around ₹2.3 lakh or more, while a 2TB configuration could potentially cross ₹3 lakh.

The September 9 Apple event should provide the first official details on the product’s name, India pricing, specifications and availability. Until then, all iPhone Ultra prices and specifications should be treated as leaks or estimates rather than confirmed Apple information.
