iQOO 16 Official Design: The iQOO 16 is shaping up to be more than another performance-focused smartphone. Ahead of its China debut, iQOO has revealed a striking new design that combines a futuristic camera module with a holographic rear panel. The company has also confirmed that the flagship will arrive with a next-generation Qualcomm processor and a dedicated gaming chip, while the camera module carries a “100X Tele Lens” marking.

The smartphone will launch in China on September 14, alongside the iQOO Pad Ultra. While iQOO has revealed several design and performance details, some specifications circulating online remain unconfirmed.

iQOO 16 Design: New Camera Module Looks Completely Different

The biggest visual change comes from the rear of the iQOO 16.

The phone features a redesigned square-shaped camera housing with three lenses arranged in a connected triangular pattern. iQOO has drawn inspiration from spacecraft design and navigation markers for the camera arrangement, giving the flagship a more technical appearance than previous models.

The camera housing also carries the “100X Tele Lens” branding. This suggests the phone will support up to 100x digital zoom, although iQOO has not yet provided the complete camera specifications.

The flash sits outside the main camera housing, while the phone uses a flat metal frame with the volume rocker and power button positioned on the right side.

iQOO 16 Official Design: iQOO 16 ‘Chasing Light’ Design Gets Holographic Back

iQOO is also using a new finish called Chasing Light.

The rear panel uses what the company describes as an industry-first laser holographic imaging technology. The process combines four precision techniques to create a three-dimensional visual effect across the back of the phone.

The effect becomes more noticeable when the phone moves. Red holographic patterns interact with blue flowing light, creating a shifting appearance depending on the viewing angle.

This makes the Chasing Light variant one of the more distinctive design changes iQOO has introduced on a flagship smartphone.

The company is also expected to offer other finishes, with reports pointing to Track and Legend variants. However, the complete colour lineup has not yet been confirmed.

iQOO 16 Camera: 100x Zoom and Triple 50MP Setup (Expected)

The “100X Tele Lens” marking gives away one of the major camera features of the iQOO 16.

Reports suggest the phone could feature a triple-camera system consisting of:

  • 50MP primary camera
  • 50MP ultra-wide camera
  • 50MP periscope telephoto camera
  • Up to 100x digital zoom

However, the complete camera configuration remains subject to official confirmation.

The periscope telephoto camera should be particularly useful for long-distance photography, while the ultra-wide lens would give users a wider field of view for landscapes, architecture and group shots.

iQOO 16 Processor: Snapdragon Chip and Dedicated Gaming Hardware

Performance will remain a major focus for the iQOO 16.

The company has confirmed that the phone will use a next-generation Snapdragon flagship processor alongside a new proprietary gaming chip. iQOO is also bringing its next-generation Monster Super Engine to the device.

The company claims the combination can deliver console-like ray-tracing effects and improved graphics quality during demanding games.

Some reports identify the processor as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, but that specific chipset name should still be treated as expected information until iQOO publishes the complete specifications.

iQOO 16 Display: Display Could Be a Major Upgrade (Expected)

Display performance is another area where iQOO appears to be pushing the limits.

Reports suggest the iQOO 16 could feature a 6.85-inch flat OLED display with a 2K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. iQOO has also confirmed a collaboration with Samsung Display around the phone’s display technology.

The company is focusing on areas including clarity, colour reproduction, touch response, refresh rate and eye protection.

The 165Hz figure remains part of reported specifications rather than a complete official spec-sheet confirmation.

iQOO 16 Gaming Features (Expected)

The iQOO 16 is clearly targeting users who want flagship-level gaming performance.

The dedicated gaming chip and Monster Super Engine are designed to improve graphics rendering and sustained performance. The company has specifically highlighted ray tracing, which can create more realistic lighting, reflections and shadows in supported games.

That approach continues iQOO’s focus on gaming smartphones, but the iQOO 16 appears to combine those performance features with a more premium and unconventional design.

iQOO 16 RAM and Storage Options (Expected)

Leaked specifications suggest that the iQOO 16 could be offered in several memory configurations.

The expected options include:

Variant Expected RAM Expected Storage
1 12GB 256GB
2 12GB 512GB
3 16GB 512GB
4 16GB 1TB

These configurations have not been fully confirmed by iQOO, so they should be treated as leaks rather than final specifications.

iQOO 16: Water and Dust Resistance

The iQOO 16 is also expected to offer strong durability.

Reports indicate that the phone could carry IP68 and IP69 ratings, which would give it protection against dust and water under the relevant testing conditions.

The exact durability certification should be confirmed once iQOO releases the complete specifications.

iQOO 16 Launch Date in China

The iQOO 16 will launch in China on September 14, 2026.

The flagship will be accompanied by the iQOO Pad Ultra, a compact gaming-focused tablet that iQOO has also been teasing.

There is currently no confirmed global or India launch date for the iQOO 16. The company is expected to reveal more information about pricing, specifications and availability around the launch.

iQOO 16 Expected Price

The iQOO 16 expected price in India could be around ₹80,000 to ₹89,999, although iQOO has not officially confirmed the pricing yet. The base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is tipped to fall within this range, while higher-storage configurations could cost more.

In China, the phone is expected to start at around 5,000 yuan (approximately $730). The iQOO 16 is expected to debut in China first, with an India launch reportedly planned for later in 2026.

iQOO Pad Ultra Will Launch Alongside the Phone

The iQOO 16 will not be the only major product at the upcoming event.

The iQOO Pad Ultra is expected to arrive as a compact gaming tablet. Reports suggest it could feature an 8.8-inch OLED display, flagship Qualcomm hardware and an active cooling system designed for sustained performance.

However, several of the tablet’s specifications remain based on leaks.

iQOO 16: What to Expect

With its redesigned camera system, holographic rear panel and dedicated gaming hardware, the iQOO 16 is taking a noticeably different approach from its predecessors.

The Chasing Light finish gives the phone its biggest visual talking point, while the 100x telephoto branding and new Snapdragon platform point toward a strong focus on photography and performance.

The full picture will become clearer when iQOO officially unveils the phone in China. Until then, features such as the exact camera sensors, RAM and storage combinations, pricing and international availability should be treated as expected rather than confirmed.
