Samsung is about to introduce its most advanced smartphone yet in India as the Galaxy S26 Ultra prepares for a global debut on February 25, followed by its India rollout soon after.
Early leaks and industry buzz point to substantial improvements in design, powerhouse performance, photography capabilities and charging speed — all of which are generating strong anticipation among tech users.
Samsung has scheduled its first major flagship launch of 2026 on February 25 with the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco, kicking off at 11:30 PM IST. The Galaxy S26 Ultra, along with other models in the S26 series, is set to be unveiled there. India is expected to see the device hit shelves by early to mid-March after the global reveal.
Early reports also confirm that pre-reservations are already live in India with a VIP pass offer that includes storage upgrades and exchange value benefits for early buyers.
The S26 Ultra is rumoured to carry a refined design over its predecessor with a slimmer body and curvier edges. The handset is expected to feature a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a high refresh rate and significant brightness improvements, making visuals sharper and more vivid.
Latest leaks suggest this panel could be more energy-efficient and might include privacy display technology to protect information from side views. Display improvements are among the most searched topics by Indian buyers, especially since this model may push peak brightness levels beyond what we saw on the S25 Ultra.
Photography is shaping up to be a standout feature of the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Leaks point to a quad-camera system headlined by a 200-megapixel main sensor, supported by a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens and a 10 MP telephoto lens. The front camera is expected to stay at 12 MP with a potentially wider lens for better group shots.
The leak reports also highlight plans for advanced photography controls, such as adjustable autofocus transition speeds for video and tools to fine-tune sharpness — a feature creators and professionals will appreciate.
Under the hood, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will likely be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in key regions with an Exynos 2600 for other markets. Memory will go up to 16 GB RAM with up to 1 TB storage, helping the phone handle high-end tasks, gaming and AI processing with ease.
Battery capacity is expected to stay in the 5,000–5,400 mAh range, similar to earlier models, but with significantly faster charging. Wired charging might reach up to 60W, pushing the phone to 50 % in around 15 minutes, while wireless charging could improve thanks to Qi2.2 support.
Samsung hasn’t officially revealed India pricing yet, but market insiders believe the Galaxy S26 Ultra could start close to ₹1.30 lakh for the base variant, with storage and RAM upgrades potentially pushing premium models past ₹1.50 lakh.
Analysts also expect Samsung to maintain pricing near the Galaxy S25 Ultra launch level while offering new pre-order incentives like free storage upgrades for customers who reserve early.
In addition to hardware upgrades, Samsung may introduce features like satellite messaging and an enhanced privacy screen that protects on-screen content from side viewers, a move tailored for users in crowded environments.
The upcoming One UI version is also expected to expand video and camera capabilities, allowing users deeper control over creative content, an angle many premium buyers actively search for.
