Vivo has offered an early preview of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the X300 Ultra, highlighting a powerful camera system designed to push smartphone photography closer to professional-level performance. The company recently showcased the device at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, drawing attention with an advanced Zeiss telephoto accessory that significantly expands the phone’s zoom capabilities.

Although visitors at the event were not allowed to test the device, Vivo displayed the complete camera setup along with a dedicated case and detachable telephoto lens. The white accessory kit and mounting grip made the device look more like a professional camera than a typical smartphone.

The showcase indicates that Vivo is aiming to set a new benchmark in mobile photography, particularly in the ultra-premium smartphone segment.

Vivo X300 Ultra Camera: What Makes the Zeiss Telephoto Kit Special?

The biggest highlight of the upcoming smartphone is the newly introduced Zeiss teleconverter system built specifically for the X300 Ultra. Vivo has developed these accessories to extend the phone’s zoom capabilities far beyond what standard smartphone cameras offer.

One of the key attachments is the powerful telephoto extender known internally as the “Big Gun 400.” The accessory delivers a 400mm focal length and allows the phone to capture images with a pure optical 200MP output at around 17.4x zoom.

With additional digital zoom support, the system can reportedly reach an equivalent focal length of 1600mm, which is typically associated with professional wildlife or sports photography lenses.

The lens also maintains CIPA 4.5 image stabilisation, helping the phone reduce camera shake even when shooting at extreme zoom levels. This stabilisation level means the system can compensate for roughly 4.5 stops of movement, making long-distance photography much more stable.

Vivo X300 Ultra Zoom: How the 1600mm Camera Works

During the demonstration at MWC, Vivo showcased sample photos captured using the extended zoom capability. One image showed an eagle sitting on a distant tree branch, taken at the equivalent of 1600mm zoom.

Despite the long distance, the image displayed clear feather detail and impressive background separation. Such levels of zoom and clarity are rarely seen in smartphone photography.

To highlight the zoom power, Vivo also displayed a wide-angle photograph taken at 35mm from the same location. When viewers zoomed in on the tree in the middle of the frame, the eagle became visible exactly where the telephoto shot had been captured.

This comparison illustrated how dramatically the telephoto lens can extend the phone’s photographic reach.

Vivo X300 Ultra: Second Teleconverter Accessory Also Revealed

Alongside the 400mm lens, Vivo introduced another accessory called the “Lipstick 200.” This second-generation teleconverter focuses on portability while still delivering improved optical performance.

The lens weighs only 153 grams, making it approximately 27 percent lighter than the previous model. Despite its lighter design, the optical system has been upgraded with 15 lens elements instead of 13, which should help improve image quality and clarity.

The accessory also carries a CIPA 6.5 stabilisation rating, meaning it can provide even stronger image stabilisation while shooting handheld.

According to Vivo, the 200mm teleconverter supports 14 different shooting modes, including portrait photography, slow-motion video, Live Photo capture, dual-view video recording, and mid-video shooting.

Together, the Zeiss lens lineup now spans 14mm, 35mm, 85mm, 200mm, and 400mm focal lengths, covering nearly all major focal ranges used in professional photography.

Vivo X300 Ultra Specifications (Expected)

While Vivo has not officially confirmed the full specifications of the X300 Ultra yet, several leaks suggest the smartphone will feature flagship-level hardware.

The device is expected to include a 6.82-inch 2K OLED display, offering high brightness and sharp visuals suitable for multimedia and photography editing. It may run on the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, designed to deliver top-tier performance.

Battery capacity could also see a significant improvement. Reports suggest the phone may pack a 7,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging, ensuring long usage times even with heavy camera use.

On the camera front, rumours indicate a powerful setup that may include a 200MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens. When combined with the Zeiss telephoto accessories, the device could become one of the most advanced camera-focused smartphones available.

Vivo X300 Launch Date (Expected)

Vivo has not officially confirmed the launch date for the X300 Ultra yet, but the device’s appearance at MWC 2026 suggests the company is preparing for a global release in the near future. Industry analysts believe the smartphone could launch in the second half of 2026 as part of Vivo’s premium flagship lineup.

Since the company has already introduced the X300 and X300 Pro models in several markets, the Ultra variant is expected to arrive as the most powerful model in the series. Vivo may hold a dedicated global launch event to highlight the phone’s advanced camera system and Zeiss telephoto accessories.

If the current timeline holds, the official launch could take place before the end of 2026.

Vivo X300 Price (Expected)

The Vivo X300 Ultra is expected to enter the market as an ultra-premium flagship smartphone, largely due to its advanced camera hardware and professional-grade accessories.

Industry rumours suggest the phone could be priced between ₹1,60,000 and ₹1,70,000 in India if it launches in the country. This would place the device in the same premium segment as other flagship smartphones designed for photography enthusiasts.

The detachable telephoto lenses, high-resolution sensors, and powerful chipset could significantly increase the overall cost of the device.

Vivo appears to be targeting users who prioritise camera performance and cutting-edge technology. However, the final pricing and availability details will only become clear once the company officially announces the device.
