If you are also looking to update your address in your Aadhaar card, changing your address in your Aadhaar card is simple and can be done either online through the UIDAI portal or offline at an Aadhaar Enrollment/Update Center. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

Online Process to Update Address in Aadhaar

  1. Firstly, you are required to visit the official website. Go to https://resident.uidai.gov.in.

  2. Now, you have to log in using Aadhaar and click “Update Address via SSUP” and enter your Aadhaar number. Receive OTP on your registered mobile.

  3. Now, you need to submit a new address to update the request. Enter your new address details.

  4. Afterwards, you need to upload the documents. Document to upload the submitted proof of address from the list of valid documents.

  5. Now, check your details carefully and afterwards, review and submit. 

  6. Lastly, you will get a URN (Update Request Number) to track the status.

Documents Required (Online):

  • Passport

  • Bank Statement/Passbook

  • Post Office Account Statement

  • Ration Card

  • Voter ID

  • Utility bills (Electricity, Water, Gas)

Offline Process to Update Address in Aadhaar

  1. Firstly, look for a nearby center. After that, find an Aadhaar Enrollment/Update Center via the UIDAI website.

  2. You are required to fill out the form after requesting an Aadhaar Update/Correction Form.

  3. Now, you are required to submit documents and attach valid proof of address (original and photocopy).

  4. You are required to submit your biometric authentication by your fingerprints, or your iris may be scanned.

  5. Lastly, you have to collect & acknowledge slips that contain your Update Request Number (URN).

Documents Required (Offline): Same as online, any valid PoA (Proof of Address).

Tracking Update Status

  • Visit the UIDAI portal and click “Check Update Status.”

  • Enter your URN to see if the address change is approved.

  • Updated Aadhaar can be downloaded as an e-Aadhaar PDF once approved.

Updating your address ensures accurate correspondence for banking, government schemes, and identity verification. Always keep your documents ready for smooth processing.
