Ganesh Chaturthi commemorates the birth of Lord Ganesha and is considered an auspicious occasion to seek his blessings for wisdom, prosperity and the removal of obstacles. Devotees believe that worshipping Lord Ganesha before starting important work brings positivity and success. During the festival, homes and public pandals are decorated beautifully, while devotees perform prayers, chant mantras, offer sweets and participate in Aarti.
