GATE 2025 Exam: The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 is a prestigious national-level examination for engineering, technology, and science graduates. The GATE 2026 exam is scheduled on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. It is conducted for admission to postgraduate programs at IITs, NITs, IISc, and other institutions, as well as for recruitment by Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).

When Is the GATE 2025 Exam?

As per the official announcement, the GATE 2025 exam is scheduled on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. This exam is conducted in multiple sessions, all on these dates, in a computer-based test (CBT) mode.

GATE 2025 Exam: Guidelines

Candidates are required to reach their respective exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned on their admit card. The entry will be closed 30 minutes before the exam begins, as per the rules. Biometric verification and identity checks are compulsory. Candidates must sit at their allotted system only and strictly follow the invigilator’s instructions.

GATE 2026 Exam: Important Documents to Carry

  • You are required to have a printed copy of the GATE 2025 admit card.
  • A valid original photo ID proof (Aadhaar card, passport, PAN card, voter ID, or driving licence) is mandatory. Digital copies or photocopies are not accepted. 
  • A transparent water bottle may be allowed as per the centre rules.

GATE 2026 Exam: Last-Minute Tips

  • Focus on revising formulas, key concepts, and short notes.
  • You are required to avoid learning new topics at the last moment. 
  • A good Sleep before the exam and reach the centre early. 
  • You have to manage time efficiently and attempt familiar questions first.

GATE 2026 Exam: Do’s and Don’ts

Do’s:

  • You have to follow exam instructions carefully
  • It is important to stay calm and confident
  • You can also use the on-screen calculator smartly

Don’ts:

  • Do not carry electronic gadgets or papers
  • Do not indulge in unfair practices
  • You are not required to panic during the exam
