NEET UG 2026 Cancelled: The National Eligibility/Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 has officially been cancelled following allegations of a possible paper leak. The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the decision after inputs from law enforcement agencies and the ongoing Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) investigation into the controversy surrounding the May 3 examination.

The move has sparked major concern among lakhs of medical aspirants across India, many of whom had already been waiting for the NEET UG 2026 result announcement.

Why Was NEET UG 2026 Cancelled?

According to NTA, evidence examined by the agency, along with findings shared by law enforcement authorities, indicated that the examination process “could not be allowed to stand.” Reports claimed that a handwritten suggestion paper containing nearly 120 questions matched the actual exam paper.

Investigators reportedly found around 90 Biology questions and 30 Chemistry questions similar to those asked in the exam, prompting a detailed probe by Rajasthan SOG.

NTA Announces Re-Exam for NEET UG 2026

In its official statement, NTA confirmed that a fresh NEET UG 2026 examination will now be conducted. The agency stated that the revised exam date and new admit card schedule will be announced shortly through official channels.

What Will Happen to NEET UG 2026 Fees?

CBI Probe Ordered Into NEET UG 2026 Leak Claims

The Government of India has referred the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a comprehensive inquiry into the alleged paper leak and malpractice network.

NTA said it will provide all required records and technical support to assist the investigation.
